Thanks, and I hope that it works out that way.

Luckily, a two-year old has no clue as to "birthday presents" so I was able to bust out early. ;-)

Good to see that all the oscar threads are getting shot down tonight.

Now if folks will follow through at the box office the nitwits might get the message. Maybe.

The latest stupid idea from the anti-U.S. crowd:

Attending rallies is not the only way to express your opposition to the U.S. war against Iraq. United for Peace and Justice is encouraging people who want to say no to war on a daily basis to wear a common symbol that will express our anti-war sentiment: black and yellow armbands.

In our workplaces, at home, at school, and on the streets, our armbands will make clear that hundreds of thousands of Americans oppose the policy of our government and the consequences it will have for people around the world.

Moveon.org is encouraging people to show their ongoing commitment to peace by putting a light in your window. It could be a Christmas string [Lots of people never take down their Christmas lights. Does that make them peaceniks, or just lazy?] or candle, a light bulb, or a lantern. It’s an easy way to keep the light of reason and hope burning, and to let others know that they are not alone. source

Black and yellow armbands? Like bumblebees? Steeler fans? What the heck.

Black and yellow armbands? Like bumblebees?

If not Steeler fans,,, perhaps they're fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

From Michael Moore receiving his Oscar award:::::::::::

I am inviting my fellow documentary nominees onstage tonight, they're here in solidarity with me because we like nonfiction.

We like non fiction and we live in fictious times.

We live in a time where we have fictitious election results that elects a fictitious president .

We live in a time where we have a men sending us to war for ficticious reasons. Whether is's the fictitious of duct tape or fictuious of orange alertswe are against this war.

Mr Bush shame on you Mr Bush,

shame on you, Mr. Bush

Shame on you and any time you got the Pope against you, your time is up,

Thank you very much, thank you very much.

I might mention that I did post that transcript last night, but my thread was deleted.

45 minutes after my thread was deleted, 3 threads about the Michael Moore speech were started and remained.

We have to find out who the Admin Moderators are.

Did a 9 year-old write this drivel?

What an idiotic acceptance speech. I heard he was booed, now I know why. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised though, after all it's just Michael Moore being his usual disgusting self.

I tried to access your thread, but it was gone. It's really strange that the other threads were allowed to remain.

Michael Moore got booed, yes. But in the re-run I saw this morning the majority of the audience were either cheering or sitting smiling. Even those booing didn't seem too upset...prolly just irritated at the bad publicity.

Jim Quinn was just reading from a Wall St. Journal piece explaining how Michael Moore's works all suffer from considerable inaccuracies, in other words, are a pack of lies. I remember reading a movie review in the school paper where Mr. M works. The student writer thought "Bowling for Columbine" was just so insightful and hard-hitting. Of course, it is a pack of lies, but how would this thoroughly indoctrinated college student know that? The movie was categorized as a documentary, not fiction, even though it mostly certainly is the latter.

THE band played "God Bless America" at Miramax's big pre-Oscar party. Michael Feinstein, who was singing the Irving Berlin classic, urged everyone to join in. Their silence was deafening. Some of the hundreds gathered in a ballroom at the St. Regis Hotel in Los Angeles actually got up and walked out in mid-verse.

This is the party where Miramax co-chairmen Harvey and Bob Weinstein hand out chocolate statuettes to all their Oscar nominees the day before the Academy Awards. http://www.nypost.com/gossip/pagesix.htm
