What Was the Point of Tonight's Press Conference
Posted on 03/06/2003 5:14:51 PM PST by ChicagoRepublican
What was the point of tonight's press conference. Bush said nothing new. We're still in the final stages of discovery. Nothing about developments against Al Qaeda was mentioned. I like Bush, but why the hell did he just waste the American people's time.

Sorry Mr. ChicagoRep, i needed a screen name to post and yours was the easiest to remember.
Anyway...
Hey guys I'm new and SOMONE "ahem" within my household made this *odd* screen name while we have only one e-mail address. I don't know how to change it. I guess i really do need help?

What was the point!? Seems rather obvious the point is to tell those that don't want war that if they think they can get Saddam to disarm through another means, they had best get to it 'cause we are not waiting a whole lot longer.
You really missed that?

You get the prize. That was exactly the purpose.

The purpose was VERY clear. His target audience was not the American public, it was the UN. "The train is leaving the station, they can be on it or under it!" Exactly correct. I find it hard to believe people on here have missed this.

"There are three kinds of people" ...

I am his biggest fan, and I am now worried about our position for the first time! I am losing confidence with every question! Good grief turkrdout, he is not Jesus (and I don't mean that sarcastically). If you are worried about your position after a president faces a press corp that is more vicious than Sadam, then you need to toughen up a bit IMHO. Bush did a great job in my honest opinion. See my previous post as an example of how great Bush did. Watch it again and I am confident you will see what I mean.

The whole thing was scripted... You must have missed it. He said as much himself when a reporter tried to jump in out of turn. He said, wait, gotta follow the script here. Your a little later on the list.

I think this was the fellow that was commenting to you last time about this being the "George War" or "GW2 war" or some sort of cut on "W" last I remember. Said he was joshing though.

The whole thing was scripted... Could be, just so he could reiterate his intentions, and make it clear to the U.N..
