Next time you're in Seattle, look me up for that slap. My six year old daughter Madison was named when that name wasn't quite as popular as it became in the years after her birth.

Well, I'm not in my 50's (yet), but I can relate to older shows and music --- but politics ??? I'm seeing/hearing many younger people preferring the grand old party now --- here's hoping it keeps up !!!

I know someone who chose "Kennedy" as the name of her firstborn daughter.
Poor little girl. Not only does she bear the name of a serial womanizer president, her mommy is a card-carrying liberal.
Don't keep in touch with her though, so I don't know if she's had little "Clinton" yet....

When I went to the hospital and was waiting in the prep room before having my twins via a c-section, my OB came in the room to go over a few things and to explain that since I was having twins there would need to be 2 of every type of medical person in the delivery room.....anyway, I'll never forget my OB telling me that the other OB who would also be in the room was Dr. Seaman. It struck me as pretty funny at the time :-)

Well, feminist-minded parents took up giving boy names to their girls in the 70's, thinking that when they grew up would be more likely to get their resumes through allegedly "sexist" college admissions and company personnel departments. I sometimes wonder if that practice ever backfired in the era of corporate political correctness: "Taylor Smith...no, throw that one out. We need a woman to make our quota." LOL!

Met a guy once named Harry Greasidick. Really, I couldn't believe it so he showed me his driver's license.

While I was awaiting the birth of my last child, the OB said that the Hispanic lady in the next room had just had twins. Said she named one Jose, and the other Hose-B.

Every monday Jay Leno has a segment called "Headlines," and at the very end he shows newspaper clippings of various hilariously named weddings.

I'm seeing/hearing many younger people preferring the grand old party now --- here's hoping it keeps up !!! I considered myself pretty apolitical until the first year or two of the Clinton administration, which coincided with the death of my mother (a wonderful human being in every respect, but a Democrat), and my turning 21 and having had a few years of 'liberal arts' college under my belt. I began to articulate my views, and realized how little I had in common with the liberal philosophy. I haven't looked back since.
