Word For The Day, Wednesday, 2/12/03
2/12/03

Posted on 02/12/2003 12:33:25 AM PST by Bella_Bru

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Teacher's note:

On Monday, I gave this word as an alternate for some students. It's all in good fun, but you do know that I get irked sometimes.

kvetch\KVECH\, intransitive verb:
kvetch, noun

To complain habitually.

noun:
1. A complaint.
2. A habitual complainer.

Etymology: Kvetch comes from Yiddish kvetshn, "to squeeze, to complain," from Middle High German quetzen, quetschen, "to squeeze."

Good Morning Class. Welcome to School!

That's where I got it from, having been an accountant for decades.

xspup has an ear infection to the tune of $300 to the vet on Sat. i never paid $300 to the pediatrician when my kids had ear infections!

Hydrogen peroxide is your friend....

i had no idea that you could/should do that to dogs. apparently his infection is pretty bad and he has 2 weeks worth of antibiotics that i have to struggle to get in his ear twice a day for 2 weeks!~

if Vast thought that the alpha dog pose was funny, he should see me wrapping arms and legs around xspup while holding his muzzle shut to get the ear goop in him. this is always followed by a lengthy lintbrush session, since i invariably wear black and end up with white dog hair all over me.

LOL, I have given up on the lint brush. All my outfits are accessorized (sp) by dog hair. Anyone who doesn't like it doesn't have to look.

xspup doesn't stand and stay well, hmmm?

um, not when i am coming at him with something to stick in his ears he doesn't. his bootcamp obedience training did not...stick, so to speak. he was attempting to interact with the dogs on the Westminster Dog show last night and was perfectly perplexed when he inadvertantly turned the tv off and the screen went dark. he just couldn't figure out where the dogs went!

Well, he looks smarter than the labrador that I evaluated saturday.... and he is very cute.

Have you tried treats after the ear meds? Something to make it worth his trouble, you know. Bribery, in other words.

who hasn't married madonna? or at least known her, in the biblical sense.
I sure as hell haven't. I don't want to go ANYWHERE Dennis Rodman(among others) has been.

I agree.

Reminds me of the joke back when Rodman kept dying his hair

What's blue, and pink, and red, and yellow, and orange?
Madonna's headboard

Before I leave CyberWorld for the day, I have to direct all you Mark Steyn fans to an interview with The Man Himself. Some interesting stuff.

You really need to get a webcam and video and post some of these episodes. This sounds like definite pay-per-view material.

It doesn't help much with most virgins. Sheesh, what a bunch of pains, I can't imagine why God invented them...

I know exactly what you mean. My oldest grew up in the "My Little Pony" era, and I've still got some of those songs stuck in my subconcious.

Doubtful. Nobody follows this stuff but us political junkies.
