various links and websites

At the request of members, I am restarting those "Tales from the Dark UnderBelly Of the Beast"-- the stories and issues that the press and media either ignore, won't even talk about, or will mention once and forevermore claim "it's old news..."
Naturally, some will be stories which interest me, or things I think we all need to be aware of.
I am experimenting with a minor change in presentation- when I can, I will cut to
-GoogleNewsBeta--
with a keyword or two and see what kind of links to "mainstream" stories I can find in contrast to what we see here and on other sites.
May I remind you of a couple of points to bear in mind?
Each link usually has many other links within- follow them all to get "the rest of the story."
Don't forget the "open multiple browsers" trick with control-n -- this allows you to hold your place with one, and use the others to follow links, run searches, etc.
Rather than go back and rehash old links, I'll give you links to the original posts here:
-DUBOB 10- the *best of* the Dark Underbelly Series--
-DUBOB 9-- even *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast..... --
DUBOB 8-- still *more* tales from the Underbelly***
DUBOB 7-- even *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast.....
DUBOB 6-- yet *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast.....
DUBOB 5-- even *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast.....
DUBOB IV- yet more Tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast-
DUBOB III -- "Tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast"
DUBOB 2-- more tales from The Dark Underbelly of the Beast-- thread II
-The Dark Underbelly of the Beast- Stories the Media won't Discuss...--

I guess the money that was extracted from the evil tobacco companies wasn't enough. I also figure that none of these people have ever heard of a black market. Additionaly, sin taxes are one of the most regressive taxes there are.

After seeing this, I have a question:
Why do we need France's approval to do the right thing any more than we need Libya's? Or Sudan, NK, Cuba, etc.
...those are no longer PEACENIKS...now call them APPEASERS...

I haven't heard a democrat say one positive thing about this country in about 2 years, maybe more. Since we had what Peter Jennings said was "a temper tantrum" in '94, they've done nothing but run down this great nation. I don't know about you all, but i'm sick of it.

This warning will be for naught. Drobny and the other Democrats are obsessed with Rush Limbaugh. ("Ten million people, day in and day out! On our airwaves! We must take back what is ours!" I can hear them say.) I look forward to seeing them pour their money - and it will be their own money for a change - down this rat hole.

What did Kerry know, and when did he know it? The press, or couse, ignored it, not wanting to lose a chance for an invitation to a state dinner at the CLINTON WHITE HOUSE.

You can be sure the prestitutes have all this information, but it doesn't fit their agenda, therefore it does not exist.

The government is infested with Clinton/democrat party criminals, white collar criminals, and sociopaths.
Why is the left so enamored with Islam?
Because Islam is anti-American, or more specifically, because it is anti-western, something the Imams of Tehran and the chattering classes of The Strand have in common.

That "predatory lending" bill is garbage- as long as the customer is fully informed, what business is it of the legislature who charges what and who pays what? It's a matter of freedom, and choice.

Question to informed Freepers. Does anyone know how to calculate the amount of time that a person can stay in say a sealed room of 1,000 cubic feet of air before they blackout? Assume the person is resting most of the time.

The New Underground: How Conservatives Conquered the Internet (book)
RichardPoe.com ^ | February 21, 2003 | Richard Poe
Learn how these modern-day Tom Paines and Ben Franklins mastered a new technology, the Internet; how they built a New Media from the ground floor; defied an outlaw White House; endured government repression; and exposed unspeakable treason at the pinnacle of power -- treason that led directly to the slaughter of 9-11.

It'd be interesting to see a translation of her speech. I'm guessing she wouldn't want to see it published back home.
Virtually every national Islamic "civil rights" group - created with the same guile that fostered the success of Al-Arian's organization - responded by claiming that we were "attacking Islam" and that we were stereotyping all Muslims. That pattern of obeisance to terrorism was repeated yesterday following issuance of the indictment.

And the problem is, there just aren't enough Democrats who are "disgusted" with these tactics. As a result of the party being thoroughly Clintonized, the current Democratic Party structure embraces this power-at-any-price approach unequivocally.

Also thought it was funny that Sheryl Crow went over to greet the soldiers in Bosnia/Kosovo with Hillary Clinton, but now all of a sudden she is anti-war. Go figure.
