AMERICAS WAR ON TERROR Day 485
The news as reported in The Washington Times:
[Note All links go to The Washington Times website.]
1. The Republicans in both Chambers passed legislation extending jobless benefits.
[Not without a little dustup in the Senate, courtesy of 97.]
GOP majority passes jobless aid bill
2. President Bush proposed scrapping the tax on dividends paid by individual taxpayers.
[Woo hoo!!! Ill be able to get the solid gold muffler!!]
Bush targets dividend taxation
3. When is a deal between Senate Members of the Criminal Party and Republicans not a deal? When the arrangement involves 97.
[What else is new.]
Democrats 'test' Frist as Senate leader
4. The Administration is making clear the talks with North Korea will not be negotiations but a discussion to learn how that nation will live up to its commitments.
[This is better than yesterday. This is being amplified by rhetoric out of State weve had talks.]
U.S. says 'talks' with North Korea won't be 'negotiations'
5. A group that pays $200 for drug addicts to either seek sterilization or long-term birth control rather than to have babies born to addicted parents which has been having a reasonable measure of success has been branded racist, despite the fact that most of its clients are white.
[Ok, let me see here. It is all right, then, for black babies to be born to addicted parents? That is supposed to be the norm, then? Thats supposed to be acceptable? These morons have got to be kidding!]
Sterilization group hit with charges of racism
6. Local leaders are upset with the police raids inside bars in Fairfax county.
[It is a bit over the top, even if they have the legal authority.]
Local leaders decry raids at Fairfax bars
7. Gov-elect Erlich has vowed to lift the ban on executions in Maryland.
[Ah, he does seem to be on track to end the Peoples Republic regime.]
Ehrlich keeps vow to lift ban on executions
We shall not rest until we have cut a swath 60-miles wide through the entire left - taking all that is before us with us as we go. We shall leave nothing to the enemy that may be of value to him. We shall show him that he may count on nothing and will be able to keep nothing, not his spirit, not his soul, not that upon which he shall feed. We shall not cease until the moment we have rent through their entire land and have arrived at the sea, with our glorious victory upon us.

ROTFLMCO!!!!
Dog - I'm sorry, but this is funny.
Good morning again, Chairman, everyone.
After being up about 5:30, went back to bed, and now up again, and brain feels like it's been whirred in a blender....
lysie, are you better today??
Bit, that name means absolutely zero to me.
I also went to see my mother yesterday afternoon.
I see everyone was quite busy here yesterday. I just sent a private note to Guennie, and I hope she comes back soon.
I am most gratified that the judges, including Pickering and Owens, are being resubmitted. Yet another thing happening that the gloom and doom types told us would never happen. Ha!
I am fascinated with Frist's leadership style, which I think we will see has the Rats running in circles pretty quickly. Warms the cockles of my heart, it does! HA!
I've had some coffee and some fruit (my 2003 resolution was to give up the morning pastry in lieu of fruit - so far, so good), and I'm rarin' to go!
Doubtful Daschle takes back his hat Deborah Orin
I sort of disappeared yesterday, too. GAO was in the building, and we had a meeting with them for two hours yesterday afternoon. Of course, that meant most of the morning and early afternoon was prep time.
I am now curious about the comment by Schieffer on Imus this morning. I wonder what that's all about?
I agree! I think Sen Frist is going to be underestimated by the RATs just like they underestimate the President.
This could be real fun to watch!!
I did find out, however, that any disparity in education, income, housing, employment, etc. is now going to be labelled "segregation."
Off to take Sarah to work and perhaps buy myself a birthday present. Hubby has fits trying to buy me stuff. It really is quite hard. I'm very content with what I have. IMO, I have everything.
C-SPAN ran at least 2 replays of the President's speech last night followed by LIVE call-ins....During the first one, about 8:45, a caller to the network basically said the US taxpayers were employees of the govt., and the govt. couldn't afford to give us a pay raise!! GRRRRRR!
Cuomo: Bush started 'class warfare' Ralph Z. Hallow
How Bush will reclaim suburban swing voters Bill Schneider
!!!!! Thanks - I think - for the scoop.
lysie - Take care. The sun is finally out....snow melt - maybe????
