Jenna Bush, the daughter of the 43rd president and the grandaughter of the 41st president announced her candidacy for the White House today. Ms. Bush stated her simple platform. "If elected, I will finish the job my father was unable to do 29 years ago," Jenna stated. "We will achieve regime change in the U.S. Senate!"
G.W. Bush's greatest failing as a president was his inability to remove Senator Lott as then Senate Majority Leader. Two years later, Senator Lott became Minority Leader, a post the ninety year-old Senator still holds. At the time, President Bush did not want to interfere in the internal business of the U.S. Senate, and believed that Senator Lott would collapse after having been weakend and humiliated on the Sunday talk shows.
Ironically, Bush's father, President G.H.W. Bush made the identical error with Saddam Hussein, who having been weakened and humiliated in the first Gulf War, was assumed to collapse of his own weight. The first President Bush was reluctant to intefere in the internal business of Iraq.
Ms. Bush's candidicy is given little chance of success by political pundits. She faces the wildly popular incumbent president, Marshall Mathers III, who is viewed as the most successful Hollywood-bred politician since Ronald Reagan. Mather's campaign slogan "Ya know what I mean?" infuriates policy wonks who would prefer a straight answer on what the president's policies really are, but the slogan is a hit with the voters.
If you know what I mean.
Maybe they could team up?
Party on!
