It's very rare to find "real" glassware at yard sales anymore. People got too wise. Occasionally you can catch something at an estate sale.

We'll sell what we can, then give the rest to our church for the spring yard sale. They usually raise over $10-15K and it all goes for missions work.

I bought truck there once! It was an 83 Ford Ranger. I paid $1,000 for it and drove it until the engine blew up (I got about 3 years out of it)

$1000 is a good price for a three year truck from a Garage sale!

I gave folk some great bargains at our garage sales a few years ago. We had three estates in two years, and had a lot of really nice stuff that we just couldn't use any more of.

Grandmother was into those Hummels, some of which were worth a lot of money. Early but helpful hawks at the sale told us we really had them underpriced. We said that we knew that. We didn't want to research every collectable and find out the maximum dollars we could get for each little thing, we wanted those lttle things to go to people who would love them and appreciate their worth and the great find they found.

It was fun. Wimmin would say, but this one is worth a hundred dollars! (or more- it was astounding) and I would grin and say, wow, what a good deal for you then! They just didn't *get* me. I was getting a lot of joy out of seeing them snap them up! - I didn't want them to feel guilty, we just wanted the stuff to go where it was appreciated.
