I agree with the "peace at any cost" statement too. A few weeks ago when you posted that post that hurt me so badly, I flapped. JenB once said (for the relative newcomers) that I never flap, but in this case I did, because I was truly very upset. I suspect many thought my response was silly, but nonetheless...

Now I could have kept it to myself and never said anything but the Hole would never have been the same for me. So I let you know how upset I was. In your case, it led to reconciliation and my increased respect for you. You just don't know how much I appreciated that.

Those here in the Hole that are my "true" friends (as Ruthy defined them) have proven it over and over and I haven't said "Thank You" enough.

What I have learned to do in the Hole is when something ticks me off or just plain rubs me the wrong way, I tell myself that if I'm still upset about it the next day, I'll post something after I've cooled off.

Usually, by the next day, I have blown it off.

That is a bad thing in a way since I become a doormat to some people in RL, but it is my nature to be non-confrontational. Ask trini - she knows me better than anyone.

I too sleep on things for a long time before I post. I wandered in here during the melee yesterday. I know I am a newbie and all, and I am not trying to start another fight, I am used to calling it as I see it. Anyway, yesterday from what I saw everyone was joking around about the spamming and stuff; I thought it was all in fun. Then I saw your post 2J, which I thought was a bit over the top esp. the false apology bit. I am not saying this to hurt you or anything, I am just giving you my impression as a newbie and somewhat outsider. I wish things hadn't got as ugly as they did, and I hope that someday Corin and Carton will come back, they Hole is already not the same without them.
