I went to bed early -- work - as always :( - hot and heavy this morning. But I happened to wake up after falling asleep, and when I awoke the clock read 11:58.

And I thought: Aside from being wired on caffeine and probably with a body wondering why it wasn't asleep, Hair is probably just about as excited right at this moment as a human being gets!

The thought didn't last very long, as I crashed again almost immediately. But we (queen's we there) were thinking of you.

Jealousy (and anger at my work-load) is tinged by the nice thought that I still have my first viewing just ahead of me!

I didn't feel tired. I feel lousy now, body clock all screwed up, but that is temporary!

It was sold out already when we arrived at nine. There were about 20 people in line that had probably been there since noon. Feeling unthreatened by that, we went next door to a restaurant and had some food and coffee. Ramius had Wild Turkey! And he stayed awake!

There are a lot of odd looking people there, but I was the only one in a cloak. Heh. Two people in line for popcorn said they really appreciated it, and that I added interest to the scenery for them. That is a good thing. It was raining in line, so I was glad I had it, and glad it was fleece. Other people brought blankets, my blanket was just more tailored than theirs!

We watched a bit of disk 2 of FoTR in line, umbrella over the laptop... and some young grunge-band type kids (teens) gathered around us and watched too. One was a Tolkien geek, and two of them were uncertain about the names of the characters, "Yeah - that guy was cool, what was his name? - Yeah Gandalf". I was astonished that people who didn't even have the characters straight, let alone lines memorized, were waiting two hours before at the midnight show to see this. But then, maybe I have forgotten what it is like to be young!

During the previews we were a bit worried about the raucusness of the crowd... But they settled right down when the movie started. People clapped and cheered mostly when they should have.
