Actually, I can't quite wrap my mind around concepts like "universe" and "infinity" in the first place.

If there is alien life, I'm not very convinced we should go looking for it. I'm not very familiar with the theological ramifications, but would suppose that all of God's creations may not be within my knowledge.

I loved the first 2 "Ringworlds," but less so the third. The pac protector idea I really liked.

I think looking for the aliens would be presumptuous, yes. Especially since we haven't even managed to settle our own backyard... let's get our house in order before inviting guests!

Besides, at least half the time in SF the aliens are unfriendly and like the taste of humans. I'd rather be ready to negotiate from a position of strength, than here at the bottom of the well.
