Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

You see correctly! If it is Ian McKellan, I can understand it. This is what the first few strides at the trot looks like until a beginning rider "catches up" to his horse. If it is his riding double, that person is very ashamed this picture ever leaked out.

Karl Urban is a good looker. Unlike Viggo, he is better lookin' out of LoTR costume. Eomer didn't "do" much for me. But this guy could eat crackers if he wants (if you know what I mean)

Oh my, that's a great picture! I really thought he looked great as Eomer though! But yes you are right...unlike Viggo, he still looks good "normally"!

It is probably at the edge of Fangorn.... The place they went where Gandalf called to Shadowfax very well could have been the same spot as the orc battle.
After all, they had to return there to get Aragorn and Legolas's horses, who reappeared. They didn't take them in the woods, so I think they must have just put Arod and Hasufel in a "sit-stay" while they went in the woods.

I am of the opinion that Dwarves already run Tolkien Town.
The Legolas stuff makes him look either strange or feminine!
Yet, if you look at the Gimli stuff, even the bobblehead, it isn't that bad.
