The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Goodnight SuziQ!

Well, somone out bid me on the sneakers....again!
Probaby for the best, since I won that audio album. I had regreted bidding on the shoes when I won that album.
I'm never gonna get new sneakers! The ones I wear now are my mom's old hand me downs that I wash every time I work and they look horrible!! I really need new sneakers and I really want some Chuck Taylors...but no way am I spending $40 for them...
To: SuziQ
Goodnight Suzi...and thanks again for your kind thoughts. At the end of the day (this day especially) those things mean a lot more than buying a new car (or other such things that money from jobs provides).

I have a lot of people in my life who think I've gone totally nuts over the LOTR thing.
But too bad.
I also have a spouse who is touchy about the online friendship thing. I post a lot to the poetry threads, and he is much more sensitive to that stuff than to the threads here. And I understand why. But frankly, he tends to be irritated by the time I spend anywhere if it takes away too much of my time from him. But, that irritation is a remnant of the Clinton years, and the fact that I got my computer and found FR during the Clinton Impeachment fiasco. For the next 2 years I didn't eat, sleep or clean house hardly, for it would take too much time from my freeping here. He was very patient then.
Now I'm not even close to being so 'bad' as that.

Morning you guys, All.
46 degrees and clear, calm winds.
To: Overtaxed
It may not be Monday, but inlaws arrived yesterday for a week's visit, which is worse.
To: Dawntreader
DID YOUR DSL COME TODAY? I completely forgot to tell you guys! I left my house at about 6:40 on Friday, and when I got home after our Friday jam session, there was a box sitting on my front steps! I'm still kind of amazed since usually I get UPS deliveries by four, but not complaining!
So I got it set up on Saturday morning and spent the weekend messing around with downloads. I had IE problems for awhile, so I didn't check in here, but I had it!

Hi Penny1.
To: RosieCotton
It works good?
To: Overtaxed; Penny1; Sam Cree; Corin Stormhands; All
Good morning!
Coldest one yet, I think. -25 or thereabouts right now. My car was NOT happy about having to start this morning.

It works good?Seems to! I ran some on-line bandwidth tests and I'm consistantly getting numbers in the 675 Kbps range. Not bad at all! It's wonderful to be able to click on a website and have pictures appear almost instantly!

I think our lows were in the teens last night. Anyway...we have a warming trend although they're predicting rain for tomorrow through Thursday.

Glad it came earlier than expected! :-) So am I! I would have had a rough weekend!
Of course, I DID end up staying up until after two on Sunday morning playing with it, so maybe having it was a bit rough, too...
