The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I noticed that he usually had at least 2 with him.I loved the scene at Edoras when they had to disarm themselves. The knives, axes, bows, and swords just seemed to keep coming! It was hilarious!

It's not round, but Jeanne would have me paint it red, if she could talk me into it.Oh cool, a red door! Ours used to be red until we changed the shutter colors. Now they're Sedona Red, and I'm fixing to paint the door Caribbean Green. The house is beige, so the door is going to look great!

I did manage to get Jr. to take a shower. Dog still stinks...Sometimes, I'm sure its easier with the dog. At least you can wrestle him and drag him to the bath!

Miss Hair!
I live in Tsawwassen, just above Point Roberts. Our sister "city" with whom we share a municipal government is Ladner. There is a picture in the local paper of Sean Astin, Malcolm Jamal-Warner and a somewhat cute local blonde techie in a local paper called the Optimist. I can't link it because I can't find it on the net, but apparently some movie is being filmed in Ladner with Sean.
Yeah, I know, big whoop.

Good Morning, everyone! Is it breakfast yet? I'm watching The Movie, considering making cookies today, and waiting to hear an extended report on the minimoot.

Morning to you OT!
I just got up with the baby here and she's watching Sesame Street. She doesn't understand it yet, but loves watching the muppets cavorting around and singing. :)
French toast, bacon and scrambled eggs are ready. I also bought some pastelitos (meat, cheese, and/or guava) and cafe con leche for the Hole dwellers that want something a bit different. There's American coffee as well, along with juices and hot chocolate. ENJOY!
The minimoot was so nice, despite the fact that it was short. It's always a blast to finally see folks and place faces to screen names. My husband kept laughing at me whenever I would call one of them by their screen name, instead of their real one.
Some habits are hard to break! LOL!

So did you have a hard time finding each other in the parking lot? :)

RMD,OT: Mornin' to you as well, Samantha and I have returned from her constitutional, brisk north wind, but bacon eggs and biscuts, OJ and coffee await.
Atlas is fascinating; worthy of much study, hmmm. best start LOTR at the beginning again to follow with the maps. I believe a fire will be in order shortly

So did you have a hard time finding each other in the parking lot? :) LOL! No, can you believe it? Sam and his wife were standing right up front, so they were pretty easy to find and ksen was spotted as he pulled into the parking lot. *grin*

Good Morning, OB! The plan was to wait for 2JM before making the coffee, but I don't think I'll make it.

Actually, Sam Cree spotted a fellow that was at the same restaurant we had just eaten at and when the same guy walked into the theatre he said "Look! There's a lurker!" LOL!!
To: Overtaxed
OT: Being an hour ahead of us, how could you wait for us CST folks to be up and at 'em. "Time, Tide, and Coffee wait for no one!" :-)
To: RMDupree
LOL! Maybe you should have told the guy to get a screenname.

300WM; sounds like a great project; have used several types over the years, the little thumb ring green one; lensatic on a jacob staff, and my fav, the silva ranger. use both the quad and degree, (depends on record source and easier than coverting on the fly) besides these don't need batteries (okay gps has its place) but don't like to rush into things :-)I'm looking for a cheap source for a genuine GI lensatic compass. The one with the tritium illumination. It's not as sophisticated as the engineer's compass, but it has a certain amount of class.
I'm also grateful my Jimmy has an electronic compass. I remember the prior vehicle, and driving down the backroads of western Michigan at night in the pouring rain, and not knowing which direction I was headed. All I had was a vague recollection of how the roads were laid out from a prior run in the daylight. Of course, that did not take into account all the road closings and detours that the county had put on the roads there during construction season.

I'm here! Steve took the boys to church, my stomach is upset. We had commited to helping with the 3 year olds this morning, or else we probably all would have stayed home...the weather is supposed to get bad, I think! No snow up there, OB?
