Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

It's getting too down in here..... Top Ten Reasons Aragorn is cooler than Luke Skywalker - Lord of the Dance 10 Aragorn's two side kicks are way cooler than the druids.
9 Aragorn gets a girl.
8 Aragorn does not whine.
7 Aragorn's mystical mentor comes back to life for real.
6 Aragorn's father is really dead.
5 Aragorn disappears and comes back leading an army, Luke disappears and comes back wearing a cloak.
4 Aragorn never had a thing for his sister.
3 The little people that Aragorn hangs out with are only furry on their feet.
2 At the end of his trilogy, Aragorn gets to be a king.
And the number one reason that Aragorn is cooler than Luke Skywalker
1. Aragorn's sword does not need batteries.

He sure got a lot accomplished it two days! Wow. Laughing loudly.
Seems like both of my grandparents picked when they were gonna go. Pepaw was determined to reach his 70th birthday. He made 70 and 2 days. Grama was determined to get to Myranda's graduation. She made Myranda's graduation and 24 days. (she was trying to wait for her to get back from Germany)

Unfortunately about 6 months later, he was taken again, and never returned. *heartbreak*
It's disgusting to know how depraved some members of society are! Sadly, it's proven in the headlines every day.
When you say bull terriers, are you talking about pit bulls or the "spuds mackenzie" types?

Well, in the case of this friend, you are right in that she is happy with me exactly the way I am.
But, we are those kind of friends who have some really interesting differences that add spice to our friendship. She is one of those decorating Nazis who always has things impeccable and nothing is ever out of place. She is a primo hostess.
and then there's me.
I took her camping once. I wanted to show her the really fun things in life. That is a good story. But, it is OH SO MUCH better when she tells it! After that, we agreed that she would take care of anything I needed at home while I was away camping.

Preparing to fry the chicken...

See that handy chopper with the white spiral cord? That's the cord with the prongs that hit me in the eye...

I have a friend who is not only incredibly meticulous about her house.... No shoes inside, no pets, no posters or tack holes in the kids rooms.... You can't even really live in her house.
She ~always~ comments on the status of my vacuuming when she comes in. Always. I just can't believe her moxy.... But then, she is the same one that thinks God tripped my horse to send me a message.

So, do you know which ones of those pieces of chicken used to belong to which pet? I guess you can tell the Buff Orpys because they're bigger. Meatier.

Now that part about God tripping your horse just needs taking care of. 2J can handle that for you!
My friend is not like that. Her kids had nice sane childhoods. And she has a home where everyone is always comfortable. She is just more into cleaning and decor than me. It's a joke between us. I decorate with things I find out in my hikes around the fields. She is always bringing home WalMart's newest matching home fashions.
Also, for some reason, it always seems that vacuum cleaners work for her. They break when I use 'em. You can ask her. I've broken 2 of hers. (and more than I can count of my own.)
Having towels that match is over my decorating head. cause, i just don't care.

The illusions humans give each other about heaven are what mislead us, not God himself.I think the same can be said for hell. 'Modern' Christians have convinced themselves there couldn't possibly be such a place because a 'loving God' wouldn't send anyone to such an awful place. I don't think God sends folks to hell. He's given us the freedom to drive ourselves there, and folks who continue to turn away from God are on that road. Eventually, they've taken themselves so far away from Him that, in their hubris, they can't find their way back, nor do they see the need to do so.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, agreed, Suzi ... That is my response to people who says a loving god wouldn't send people to hell. "God doesn't send anyone to hell, we volunteer to go"
