The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I am caught up to about 10 o clock Pacific last night and there is a conversation weighing romance verses relationships and work versus effort.

You can skip all that part. It just isn't worth the effort.

Hey! You figured out how to post and even ping g'nad to your post! Way to go!

I wish everyone in the Hole was here. I got a BUNCH of chicken leg quarters...legs and thighs, with my Angel Food ministry food! I cut them into separate pieces and am now going to have to fry them up, because it was frozen when we got it and now can't be re-frozen uncooked!

I wish everyone in the Hole could come eat chicken with me!

(I'm boiling up a couple of pieces for Josh to make a soup.)

I know this will surprise you, (*grin*) but I stood up and LET HIM HAVE IT right in front of God and everybody.

I'm shocked, shocked, I tell you! Little old you, telling that Church guy to blow it out his shorts? It can't be! ;o)

Pay attention. You're in charge of depravity whilst I'm gone...

Wow, such an honored trust. I will do well whilst you are away.

Oh Ruthy, that's great news about Bo. My brother had bull terriers, and they were the sweetest dogs you'd ever seen! I have a picture of our #2 son when he was about 3 yrs. old, wrapped up in his Mickey Mouse blanket on the floor, leaning against Buster Brown, one of the dogs, like he was a pillow!

That dog was stolen a few years later from my brother's yard. A year later he showed up back at the house half starved and had clearly been abused. They think he was stolen to be used for dog-fighting, but just didn't have the temperment for it, so was beaten to try to make him mean. It apparently didn't work, he was just as sweet as ever. Unfortunately about 6 months later, he was taken again, and never returned.

Nope. My grandfather was born on August 13. He died on the 15th. He was the best man I ever knew. (corin might be in the neighborhood but he ain't there yet.)

Hey, do me a favor and give your dad an extra hug for me okay? Tell him it's from a friend who had somebody special with that same birthday.

I'd love to, but he's in Florida. we talk almost everyday .. it was his mother, my grandmother, that died last week while I was there ..

I might impose on some of you to help me bombard him with birthday wishes on his birthday, though.. that would tickle him.

I bet your standards for 'fit for company' are higher than your friend's.
