Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Is that really finally YOUR new house! I love it! Yup, we're making progress. I'm so relieved. This whole mess has been terribly stressful. All but one of the winders are in. So is the fireplace. We went with gas (propane to be exact), cuz Big'ol isn't inclined to chop wood all winter. ;)

Is Frank as tacky as we think? Or worse? Did he get cited for his garbage dumpster infraction!!! Please tell me yes and make my day. Re the garbage (which really stinks), I'm not sure, I didn't ask. Frank is extremely tacky. Picture a sweaty stack of refrigerator biscuits with a sunburn.

I'm pretty partial to propane for about anything myself. I support that choice. Though a woodfire certainly has some esthetic advantages. It will be nice for you to not have all the work associated with wood though.

Aw well. We came upon them whilst giving the dingos a walk. They were gathered (along with the Home Depot Manager neighbor) around a house in early stages of construction. They were scowling and making fun of how small it was. Pretty snobby coming from tacky people whose house is no longer the smallest on the block.
