The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I took the kids to the drive-in to see BOTH the 'flushable' and Pirates. It was great on the big screen, but not as sharply focused as in the theater. It may not be as sharply focused but it's always fun to see what part the grapevine growing over the top of the screen plays in the movie. And I'm not sure any theaters I know have corrugated tin screens like they do at the drive-in. It was kind of good watching LXG there Monday though. Ft. Hood was firing lots of loud stuff that night. It enhanced the movie!

Ok, they flew over my house from the south, then flew back over the house, then back over really low. Now they've gone on up north and I can see them way up flying round and round. I think it is actually just one...but they move so fast!
I haven't seen this much activity in several weeks...the last few days have been really busy. But the F16s are usually very high and fast, never making loops...just straight north or south, usually. This what they did today, I've never seen before.
God Bless our Troops...

OK, well I tried to order the tickets but there was a glitch in the process. I think it had to do credit card approval due to the recent address change. So I had to call the credit card company just to make sure everything was kosher. I'll try again later.
Now time for a bit to eat and a walk.

Wonder if we'll make it to 61,000 afore I have to swim home...

Nope, just plain old garden variety vernacular Mass. I was very young when they went to English, so Latin holds not real fascination for me. Our choir sang a Latin Mass back in early 1988, but it didn't feel any more special to me than what I was attending each week. Some folks feel better about the Latin Mass because of nostalgia, or a feeling that it is somehow more "Catholic", but I don't feel that way. I'd probably scandalize some of them by telling them I like ALL kinds of music at Mass; gospel, pieces from the Oxford Hymnal, rock, folk. As long as it's praising God, bring it on!

You know, go back and look at the pic of Dernhelm Bear posted. That's not Theoden she's holding, it's Merry.

Not a helicopter...an F16!You're definitely on someone's list!! LOL!
To: HairOfTheDog
I agree. I'm gonna take my lawn chair out front and watch the show.
They are flying over and over, not my house now, but north. I can hear the roaring. Makes me feel so safe.
