Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I took the 25 knives I have on hand to the engraver today. He promised at least some of them will be ready by Thursday. Those of you who ordered one for yourselves will get the first ones finished. The rest will go to WN, who needs to take some time to feed them through the "supply chain". The total purchased was 34.

Hair; it sounds kinda funny, but when we were gone for a month, we hired a young animal control officer that worked for the city to house-sit and take care of Gifford, the lab, and Smokey Bear and Victoria, the cats.
Luckily, Gifford continuously entertained her with his antics such as hiding her key ring in his mouth and jingling it when her back was turned, or dropping his rawhide bone down the stairs (several times) until she got up to feed him. She had the city hall staff in stitches most mornings.

Version #2 is the one we made.... almost.... we skipped the sprite and added Champagne instead.

Ingredients
1 bag Ice
1 can Limeade
1 can Lemonade
2 L Sprite
1/2 gal Vodka
1 case Beer
Empty a bag of ice into a large cooler. Add the cans of limeade and lemonade, then the 2 liter bottle of sprite. Add 1/2 gallon of vodka and 20-24 cans of beer.
