Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I just figgered you really didn't want me to call... I just don't know what she wants anymore.

Dang, Corin, that water is COLD! Are y'all going swimming there? 'Course we are. I can't imagine it's much colder that what you were kayaking in. Right?

Could I possibly have Flat Frodo next (again) ? Did you get your NY write up done? I'm anxious to see it. ;^)

Could I possibly have Flat Frodo next (again) ? I'm happy to send him where he needs to go. If we do the pier cam picture on Tuesday (August 5), I can ship him that afternoon. So, if mstar doesn't need him, I should be able to get him to you.
Somebody just decide and tell me. I cain't take the pressure.
Speaking of which...how is he travelling? I should scope out options for that ahead of time so I don't have to go looking for a place when I'm there.

I agree! I remember that thread...'twas a good thread!

Gosh... whenever I start to think I'm slightly odd, I need to go look at pictures of people dressed up to attend a con.

It's all relative perspective, Bear!

Going south is always nice. Like walking downhill alright.

It's all relative perspective, Bear! My relatives are slightly odd...

Hey, Corin. Sure just send the little guy whenever it works out. Check with Ms. Hair and make sure it's OK. We will prob. be showing him the greater Houston area. Still no p.o. number for the call in Calif.
It's a shame Sean Astin is not currently filming "Issac's Storm" (he is planning on producing it) in Galveston. We could have taken him out to the location where they were working...if we could find out where.
There's plenty to do and see here, if he doesn't have a heat stroke...send him on if Ms. Hair gives the OK.

Hey, don't know if this make us feel much better, but I just looked. The current TNS thread was posted in March 2002. We came here in December 2002.

'Course we are. I can't imagine it's much colder that what you were kayaking in. Right?I'd guess that the water at Eagle Lake was more like 70-74. It was rather nice, though I do like water slightly warmer than that! ;o) I knew it wouldn't be bad cause it felt good when I stuck my hand in as I was paddling, and when I tipped myself over for the 'self-rescue', it wasn't shockingly chilly. The guys said it is rather cold in the Spring and Fall, but this time of year it's nice cause it's pretty shallow and the sun warms it nicely.

Did you get your NY write up done? Not yet, (shame, shame). I plan to have it done before we leave for MT.
To: HairOfTheDog
I may be getting another phone call tonight. I wasn't the one who suggested it, which I guess means I didn't sound like an idiot last time...
To: SuziQ
No problem here...you all tell me what's good and when. We will do our best to work around schedules. I imagine FF will REALLY enjoy Yellowstone after Houston in August. I know I would.
