Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, there's that, and the fact that you aren't very picky. This is very true. Just about any male over 1000 years old.

Has nothing to do with a pawn shop. My guitar came from Sears and Roebuck and it did the finger pain thing too.

My guitar came from
Cotten Music, and it cost more than I'd care to admit. Not as much as most of the ones they have listed now, though. On the other hand, at that time I had money to burn, and it plays and sounds soooo nice!
To: RosieCotton
Does it make your fingers hurt if you don't play it very often?
To: RosieCotton
Actually mine was a gift from and old boyfriend who played in a bluegrass band. And I gave it away some years ago because I'm simply not musically talented!

Does it make your fingers hurt if you don't play it very often? It's been awhile since I went a very long time, but not really. The action (string setup) is nice and low...not hard to push the strings down at all. I haven't found too many guitars to compare to it. I really, really like it.

I'm allowed to pray that I don't sound like an idiot, right?Absolutely, Rosie. You don't ask, you don't get. I'll be thinking of you then!
To: SuziQ; HairOfTheDog; JenB
I also think it's okay to pray for pirates.

Rosie is drooling over wood. I'm drooling over pirates. People who do illegal deeds and are of low character.
gee, no matter how old I get and how much I try to clean up my life - nothing much seems to change. LOL

Probably because you got it in a pawn shop.LOL!! Nope, SSQ's fancy 'Martin' guitar would do the same thing if I up and started playing it after 20 yrs. or so not playing the guitar! And he didn't get it at a pawn shop!

Try Corin, he has a teenager.....

Well, there was one time... at band camp?
To: RosieCotton
I think that's the guitar equivelant of a little red dress.Woo Hoo! Clare says that looks like a kinky tiger suit or something!
To: HairOfTheDog; Wneighbor
You guys want to watch The Big Chill with us? Bad news. They didn't have it.
To: RosieCotton
Consider it prayed.
