Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Uh, what do we win?
To: Corin Stormhands
lenn Close in HookLOL! I didn't read your ENTIRE note about the movie and about her having been in makeup where you didn't realize it was her. I never knew she was in Hook; which I really liked. I'll have to look for her next time I see it. I've never seen Garp, I just knew she played Garp's mother in the movie.

Am accepting suggestions for an acceptable book passage
...this I will say to you: your Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while all the Company is true.'

The account is open as of this a.m. with the little deposits call in. I authorized the transfer form banking account, they sent back an e-mail thats says, "These funds will become available for use in your PayPal account in 3-4- business days. Banks have their own policies regrding the time it takes to confirm and process these requests."
So do I need to turn in a credit report and a FBI background check or what.
Anyway I have done what I can do there...
Concerning Flat Frodo and Irvine, my husband hasn't been able to get a P.O. for the customer as of yet, so he is leaving for Maryland next week and the week after he may have Philly....Flat Frodo could visit Independence Hall, I don't know, it's up to you. Or could wait to see if California does come up later. Whatever.

Thanks for the ping to that post. Now, how do we run it as a full page at in USAToday?
To: Corin Stormhands
Too late, dang it. That's what I get for sleeping in so late.

Count me in for two knives for our "dudes" overseas. The funds I have already transfered in my new "PayPal" will not show up until about 3 to 4 business days. Or does this go to Wnighbor since it is for the platoon?Again, these are two separate projects. If you want to contribute to "our" troops, contact WN. If you want a pocket knife for yourself, contact ME. You can do either, both, or none.

That sounds good, I will forward the $$ as soon as the funds are available. Hope your son-in-law is OK, been praying and I'm out of here. Everyone have a good day.
To: 300winmag
Money is tight so I'll get just the two for the "dudes", thanks.
To: mstar
"The ending of The Lord Of The Rings is a triumph of Providence over fate, but it is also a triumph of Mercy, in which free will, supported by grace is fully vindicated." Very good, mstar, thanks for sharing that!

Your Big Chill trivia question WN (nobody tell her the answer)....who's the body?
To: SuziQ
BTW the answer to your question is "The World Acording to Garp". Nope. Keep readin'. She was in that (played his Mom), but that's not the one I'm thinkin' of. (maybe you have, 'cause I'm catchin' up myself)
