Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Morning. I have an appointment with the eye doctor today.....tired of looking at blurs and the contact people won't sell me any more lenses without a checkup....it's rough being cheap sometimes. Hope the rain holds off so I can paint and mow this afternoon.

Morning LF, Letters like this give me one reason for relief that I have no other children growing up. The longer I had a child in the public schools the worse it because.

I removed Myranda from public school into a Christian school for her first year of high school and she was so far behind those who had been in the Christian school that it just didn't work for her. She almost failed her freshman year and spent the most miserable year of her life.

Never saw the Sharon Stone flick, but Glenn Close was very good as the crazed woman in Fatal Attraction.

Like the vast majority of Hollywood stars, Close is a liberal. But she's an incredible actress. I still wish the cast of The Big Chill would do a sequel...20 years later at the wedding of one of the kids...

Today's pop culture trivia (and I've asked this one before). In what Robin Williams movie did Glenn Close play a cameo roll. Hint: You would not recognize her...(is it still called a cameo roll if you don't recognize her?)

Know what you mean about those stupid rules about selling more contacts. Finally quit messing with them and just went to glasses again about 3 years ago. And I can still put on the same old ones every day without a new prescription. but, i do miss my contacts at times. i could see better with 'em.

Another busy day ahead of me, so I won't be in for most or all of the day. I had an interview scheduled today but they were so evasive about the position and pay and hours that I decided not to go. I finally tracked down the fella I was to interview with today, and it turns out my hunch was right. The job they want me for is strictly sales and on nights and weekends! Grrr....

I would have been soooo angry if I had driven an hour to the interview location to find that out!!
