The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I just wish I had taken it. Maybe I'll get an even better one on safari in Africa.
To: SuziQ
A DWARF dog? *Ahem* I heard that.
To: Ramius
Well, it got up to 103 today. And that wasn't until after 6. The weather man said a cool front came through. We weren't supposed to get to triple digits. uh huh.
Here's hoping that the trollin' works better for ya than the piratin'!

Read Mark 16:17-18 Is that the "signs that shall follow those that believe, that they shall cast out devils, swallow poison... handle serpents" yadda yadda yadda part?
Note that it doesn't say that everybody gotta do it, or that if you don't do it, you ain't got it. It just says that it'll happen. OK... I 'seen it happen. Good enough for me. :-)

Dalmations are too flashy to be dwarves, methinks...LOL! Yeah, but Scott's is obviously GASSY enough!

SQ: Fling an arrow and you'll find archers everywhere. That was a cool story, ever think about taking it up? It's quite a hobby.
To: Corin Stormhands
If'n it's done in the spirit. OOOOhhh... It's done in the spirit alright... by everybody. No way not to.
To: ecurbh
They look like they are posing with a golden retriever!
To: Ramius
Yes, it was one of the coolest things I've ever done. Really glad I did it. No... I'm never doing it again. To find out why you're just going to have to do it yourself. Words cannot do justice. I love this! I hope it's like that! I have a little list of things that I thought it better NOT to do as the sole support of a kid. So, now that the kid is gone..... it's time to start marking things off the list.

So, now that the kid is gone..... it's time to start marking things off the list. Oooh..."the list." I've got one of those.
It's labeled "Things I Want to Do Before I Die." Is that the list yer talkin' about?
To: HairOfTheDog
Heh, I have a feeling that the ones in Africa would not put up with that.

Jen, that sounds like you had an awesome time. Very cool that you went with your dad! I can't imagine doing anything like that with my dad. The whole event sounds very cozy and the author sounds like a nice personable guy. Congratulations!

Yep, 'bout 4-5 years ago, the wife and I had an ephiphany of sorts.
Realized we needed to do something significant with our lives because we were too old to die young...
To: Corin Stormhands
Be sure and keep an eye out for these things at the beach.

Mine was on a 160ft railroad bridge down into a gorge, here in WA up by Snoqualmie. Little 12inch deep creek at the bottom.
The whole story is too funny, but once my toes left the bridge the most utter absolute calm overtook me. The only thing I could think about was that most people don't have the privilege of knowing in advance how they were going to die, and I was lucky because I knew then at that moment exactly how it was going to be. Lucky me. I was going to have a massive coronary while hanging by a rubber band from a railroad bridge fifty miles from nowhere.
Then, one the bouncing back and forth part started, a sense of utter peace with God and the world was flowing through my mind. It sounded like: "AAAAAGGGGBIGROCKSBIGROCKSBIGROCKSBIGROCKS.... AAAAGGGGHHHHIAMGOINGTODIEIAMGOINGTODIE". Or, something like that.
I really recommend it.
To: ecurbh
Heh, I have a feeling that the ones in Africa would not put up with that. Heh.... No...
And I don't think this guy really has to tell this horse to "go" either. Silly people tricks part 2!

Hey, just got a call from the lady that heads up the county GOP committee. Met her in Ardmore. She invited me to her little meeting tomorrow night. To recognize me. *wneighbor bows* And discuss the issue. Don't know if ya'll out of state have heard but the special session for redistricting has been newsworthy here. The bill has now gone through the house but the DIMwits in the State Senate are now talking about a walkout this week. again, to prevent a quorum. ARGH!
