Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

"Things Remember" is usually way overpriced. Can you find an "independent" and then tell 'em the story? They might give you a break. There is a sporting goods store nearby that engraves trophies. I'll try them tomorrow.
There is also a longshot that might pay off big. An engineering company that does laser engraving. Guys in that line of work tend to have a soft spot for the troops. Maybe a deal where they can put their own logo on, too.

"Sometime in the distant past". Generic antiquity, I suppose. Production notes say it was filmed at the ruins of Hampi, the capital city of the 13th century Vijaynagar Empire. And all the reviews categorize it as a period piece.

Hullo...just stopping by, catching up on the "pings" and how everyone is. Really enjoyed the humor and the story of our "dudes in arms". I feel much safer knowing these kinda guys are on our side. Hope everyone is OK and well on their way to the job of their dreams, with big, fat salaries to go with it. Or just to be content and pay bills and have some left over to go see "Rings" to their hearts content.
