Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Ha! That is great. "Departed from controlled flight." hehehe
Seriously, I'm glad this guy is OK though. Seems like he would be someone that is fun to be around.
To: ecurbh
Yep.... Glad he's on our side.... The best ones are!

Yeah, I saw that thread. What a maroon. I woulda had a few choice words for him if it was my flight he delayed with his little stunt.

What's amazing is that on this one, Freepers seem to agree. Or the argument hasn't shown up yet, one of the two.

No, everything is back to normal.... a couple people have shown up on the thread who think our friend is very brave for standing up to tyranny, and a couple are flaming mhking for being a DU troll.

Are you at work? - If not - there is a good report on MSNBC.... an hour diary from one of the embedded reporters with the Marines on invasion of Iraq day.

Do the "episodes" look healthy and 'normal'? Not that I'm doing comparison shopping, but no this didn't (there were four spots, close by enough that we knew it was one "time"). We haven't changed his diet, he no longer gets table scraps.
I dunno what's wrong with him. I have an idea of what will be wrong with him if it happens again.
I'm gonna try regulating his meal times. Right now his food is just out and we'll feed him if he rolls his dish across the floor. We need to be more consistent. It's hard though when he's outside. He won't eat outside so his food just sits there for the ants.

This is a test of Comcast free space for pictures to test the stability of linked pictures from there..... No problem loading. I'm on Comcast too and store my files there (the ones I don't just steal from elsewhere that is).
To: Corin Stormhands
but no this didn't You mean it didn't look normal? - did he have diarrhea or were they nice and firm? (I love these conversations!)
If they were loose, there is something wrong, and he can't control it any better than.... well.... lets just leave it at that!

Well, it was a busy weekend. Cleaned house- to include shampooing the carpets, made some kerchiefs for the dogs, ran errands, took the s-i-l to dinner, and saw a couple of movies. In the theaters we saw Extrordinary Gentlemen and Legally Blonde 2. The first was entertaining, although the ending seemed to come to a crashing halt rather than a nice resolution. The second was just plain silly, but that was the point I think.
But! I stumbled across a real gem on cable* that was just fantastic- a little bit of Indian cinema called Agni Varsha. I've always heard that movies are big over there but I've never seen any of them. This was awesome! It's an adaptation of a play based on a Hindu myth and weaves together themes of family and caste, cosmic intrigue, honor, ritual, love, lust, loyalty and betrayal. It's a Hindu Hamlet. Very, very cool.
*It pains me to say, the Sundance Channel. Ugh.

Still at work. But at least the boss has left for the evening, so I'm free to freep...or play backgammon. ;-)
To: Lil'freeper
Thanks for the tip about that movie! - You had a productive day! - I did a bunch of laundry and put it away instead of piling it on the guest bed! - I am livin' right!

Not that I'm surveyin' yer laundry, but I notice a color theme...
(I'm still catching up to yer dog poop comments, be there in a bit)
To: Corin Stormhands
Not that I'm surveyin' yer laundry, but I notice a color theme... Well, I do like green and wine tones, but the apparent color theme is also due in part to the loads that had been run together....
