Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Our air conditioner was destroyed last year during one of the break-ins.I remember when that happened! Didn't you shut down the pool for the rest of the season because of it? A few days early?

Well, I'm glad to hear about the eye. You know, we might actually be more correct in attributing the huge God-miracle to your eye!!! (instead of the small miracle of the convenience store)
I'm thinking of turning on my air-conditioner tonight. I have to do it tomorrow night anyway because I have another friend coming from home to make sure I'm not cracking up.

I'm having a strange problem with my computer tonight. I had been gone all day to a Homeschool convention, and when I got home, I noticed that none of the pictures in the previous posts for today had loaded, with the exception of the RoTK countdown calendar.
Even when the little 'loading bar' across the bottom says it's 'Done', there is nothing there! AARGH! I don't know if it is because our #1 son is home, so that means there are 4 computers going full time instead of the usual 3, or what, but it's driving me nuts!
What is really strange is that the pictures are loading half way on the 'My Comments' Page, so I did get to see Osagebowman and g'nad at the MO mini-moot. I hope I get to see all the other pics tomorrow.

It is a bandwidth issue at your end it sounds like SuzQ.... because I am not experiencing the same slowness here that would indicate it is the servers at the sources that are slow.
Is everyone sharing an internet connection at the same time? If so, what kind?

Good night. It is nice to find out that even though I live 200 miles from home now my old friends think it important enough to drive all this distance to walk me through the hard times. Tho, I feel much more close to normal today, what with the purposely going out to do something.... even though it was only office.

Is everyone sharing an internet connection at the same time? If so, what kind?We have a cable internet hookup hosted by our town's cable system. It is usually blazing fast! There's supposed to be an upgrade next week, so maybe that will help. We'll now be able to have 5 e-mail accts. instead of 3, and the service is supposed to get faster.
There have been plenty of times in the past all of us have been on at the same time, but now Clare is doing a lot of uploading of scanned drawings, or downloads of Anime,Paul is playing 'Counterstrike', and SSQ probably has his monster Mathematica program running up in his office.
