The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!
Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

hehehe... That's what I'm thinkin'.
The rotorheads used to tell stories of always preferring to take certain [ahem] routes past certain places because the [ahem] low-altitude scenery was always better. And don't believe that they don't, either...
boys will, in fact, be boys. Even officers sometimes.

I think ecurb had a shake (of sorts) tonight too...but with a kick...the quadshake and our milk shakes were a family style shake.
Hey, mrsnad! If'n it'd been next weekend when they were havin' the bowmoot...the kids and I could have come up and kept you company!
Maybe even hauled Wneighbor with us!

I thought it was just a elf bow moot. I think he's trying to pretend it's not a Legolas-moot.

Hey, ecurb...I need some help.
The chaplain's wife keeps sending me photos of the chaplain but they are labeled "winmail.dat". I can't get them to open.
Any suggestions?
I'll get on Yahoo Messanger

Well, this was the first time I'd seen them with the side door open...except like on the news or something. They've been flying off and on (sometimes several times a day) since 9/11.
Gosh Darnit...I wish I could have seen better!! This was the closest they've ever come to almost dropping right down onto my house! They were really close! Very loud thunking of the blades!

The rotorheads used to tell stories of always preferring to take certain [ahem] routes past certain places because the [ahem] low-altitude scenery was always betterHmmmm. I can see that line of thought.
My son-in-law emailed me yesterday about the portable shower that I sent him in Baghdad. He reported that he shares it with his entire platoon. They've hung it on a balcony so they can shower and sunbathe at the same time. (What I don't want to say to my son-in-law is - Hmmmmm..... I should be there to watch this show!! ... But, alas, he would never find that amusing from his m-i-l!)

Did you put in FoTR? - I am watching, and can actually say it has been a long time since I saw this!
We are in Lothlorien.... Legolas is wearin' one of Galadriel's bathrobes.

ROTFL...
To: HairOfTheDog
That's not a bathrobe. Those are majestic robes reserved only for royalty. I can't believe you don't know royal robes from bathrobes by now.
and I can't believe I'm hearing this from the woman who once asked me if I'd gone over to the dark side because I said Hugo messed up Elrond.

Perhaps I can help...
winmail.dat is the "rich text" formatting information from an outlook-sent message. It sounds like you must be viewing your mail in plain text, or you have a mail app that doesn't do rich text. If you are using outlook or outlook express, try changing the mail reader to use rich text, and the formatting should appear.
The photo, however, is probably not embedded in the .dat file. It should be an attachment of it's own.

Five of a kind snaig indeed! So, is Ramius older than you or what? Do you not beat up on him with your stick because he's bigger than you? meaner than you? more intimidating then you? older than you? For what reason does the stick not fly upon his head?

so... why did you emphasize "older" not once, but twice??
[sigh] Yes, but age and treachery will beat youth and enthusiasm every time...
To: HairOfTheDog
You prayed for this! (for Pete's sake!) That was for Ruthy.
She had a really tough day.
Must have been a good prayer if it shed on other people and lasted all day. Tomorrow, I'll type one out for someone to get a job.... so EVERYONE will get a job.

I emphasized age twice because I am the oldest of my siblings. As such I now reaffirm my power and position to my brothers at every opportunity........ all the while pointing out to them that while I may BE the oldest, they both look older than me! :-)
