Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Personally, I think I'd rather go out in flames than die in a nursing home.... especially with the chance of Alzheimer's. Not many things scare me, but that does. Me too. And that doesn't even include the thought that my kids will pick the place. *shudder*

I think that must be a brewery, but it does sort of look like Auschwitz or something. God forbid.

I think this is a case of, "the spirit is willing, but the checkbook is weak." I know I have to consider my expenses carefully.....I'll dedicate some of that to help our troops, wherever they are. They face death, separation from home, assorted deprivations, and other fun stuff. Our humble efforts at least let them know that complete strangers care, and our humble efforts are more than repaid with their smiles. They're sacrificing so much for us, the least I can do is take on a bit of financial sacrifice every now and then. I think we become better people for it. What are you doin' readin' my mind???

I had a good time at the Alzheimer's home when I was doing visits with Zulu. I was new every time and they never got tired of me! Yes, but I'm not very social and don't particularly like meeting new people all the time.

Then it would probably make you very grouchy! ;~D
To: Wneighbor
Yah... that's the worst thing about alzheimer's... you're *always* meeting new people every day. Over and over again.

Work.... presentation in another town..... Think I have to wear a dress..... Egads, I hate work that requires that. Don't mind if I feel like it occasionally - but work that requires it should be outlawed!

Thats why I don't freep from the bar while trying to meet people. Cause, I really don't think meeting people is all it's cracked up to be.
Are you there now? Is it time for me to start my nagging for the evening?

Yeah... I'm there now. But it's just me, a guy from my office and some other dude. And Steph, the bartender. Pretty quiet in here tonight.

Night, Sam!
When do we start the new thread?
