The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!
Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

So, you identified the substance.
From that identification I don't guess it's an edible substance now.

Livin' In The Fridge
by Al Yankovic
Lyrics:
There's something weird in the fridge today
I don't know what it is
Food I can't recognize
My roommate won't throw a thing away
I guess it's probably his
It looks like it's alive...
And livin' in the fridge... livin' in the fridge
Livin' in the fridge... livin' in the fridge
There's something dross in the fridge today
It's green and growin' hair
It's been there since July
If you can name the object
In that baggie over there
Then mister, you're a better man than I
It's livin' in the fridge
You can't stop (dysentary) the mold from growin' (dysentary)
Livin' in the fridge
Can't tell what (dysentary) it is at all (dysentary)
Livin' in the fridge
You can't stop (dysentary) the mold from growin' (dysentary)
Livin' in the fridge
Tell me, do you think it should be carbon dated
Fumigated or creamated and buried at sea?
You try to save a little bit of you're home cookin'
Couple weeks later, got a scary-lookin' specimen
It always happens my friend
Again & again & again & again
Somethin' stinks in the fridge today
And it's been rottin' there all week
It could be liver cake or wooly mammoth steak
Well, maybe I should another peek...
Livin' in the fridge
You can't stop (dysentary) the mold from growin' (dysentary)
Livin' in the fridge
Can't tell what (dysentary) it is at all (dysentary)
Livin' in the fridge
You can't stop (dysentary) the mold from growin' (dysentary)
Livin' in the fridge
Livin' in the fridge
Don't know what it is, don't know what it is
Livin' in the fridge
Don't know what it is, don't know what it is
Livin' in the fridge
Don't know what it is at all
Livin' in the fridge, yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
A parody of "Livin' On The Edge" by Aerosmith with new lyrics by "Weird Al" Yankovic.

Those lumps on the left are trees and you can see kudzu climbing trees on the right and in the center.
To: Overtaxed
Kudzu is in the category with hackberries. It just won't go away.

Did you really? - neat! I wish I had sent you some money, do you need $$$ now? - Is that the last set before the chaplain leaves? - Do you think the new chaplain will contact you? Or should we start sending to Iraq? - What do we gonna do?
To: HairOfTheDog
Good...ugh, afternoon. Late start. Hope all is well.
Wow! Flat Frodo here with us! What a honor. We would love the little flat guy with us any time, any place. Let us know his interay (know it must be tight) and we will just work him in.
My husband is suppose to work in Irvine, Ca. sometime in early August. My daughter is going to school near L.A so I will prob. go with him so I can see her and he gets lonely. Maybe Flat Frodo can tag along; see Hollywood, protest the Hollyweird liberals, find Elijah's house and say "HI".
We will think of something for him that will be safe so the LAPD does not pick him up and book him.
If that time frame does not work out will take him on tour of Houston and he can sweat. My grandson will love it!
Let us know when would be best and then have your people call my people.
Cheers Gaffer!

What do we gonna do?I tell you what I think we do oughta do! I think we oughta adopt Wneighbor's son-in-law after this ends with the 82nd Airborne.
He'd be a good one to adopt, he's the head of a group of guys...we'd have a set number of guys to adopt...we could really help them out.
This would also give people in the Hole that never got around to contributing but always wanted to a chance to jump in.
Wneighbor could head it up...
What does everyone think?
Whatta ya think, Wn?

Do you think they'd like my collection of soy sauce packets?

When in early August? I'm s'posed to get Flat Frodo at the end of July and take him to the Outer Banks on August 2nd. But I could send him from there if I need to. We can get the shots we want there in one day.

What does everyone think? I'm in.

Your in Arkansas now? Well, Clinton (both of them) is very popular here.

To: 2Jedismom
If you guys do another round, I'd like to throw in some "Finding God In The Lord Of The Rings" books for devotional material, unless you think that would be a bit too religous.
To: Overtaxed
Who? The guys in Iraq? I bet they would!
That Arby sauce was a stroke of brilliance in my opinion!

We are still waiting on a date, just know early August. I'll try to push on hubby and see if a time can be nailed down.
To: mstar
That is what I sent to our chaplain from the Hobbit Hole! Most of the items were meant to be passed out, but that was sent directly to him and this was what I put on the inside...
