Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Thinking about all our Texans today. I know some of you may not be in the path of the storm. But being geographically ignorant, I'll just keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Good morning all .. I'm a bit north of Houston, but the rain/cloud bands are reaching up here .. Awesome for me .. scary for those south of me. We'll hit the road tonite heading toward Florida for a two week vacation .. hope the weather isn't too bad for our drive, but compared to what some are going through ............. here's some coffee

Some parts of Houston flood worse than anything. I think they screwed up when they poured all the concrete and didn't account for run-off or something. I dunno. I do know flooding is a real problem.

YIKES! Prayers your way MBY! I've 'done' hurricanes; the only saving grace, unlike with tornados or earthquakes, is you have enough warning to get your self safe, or get yourself away! Prayers headed your way. Looks like Frodo is close to you; he'll have Sting to help clear out those downed branches when you return!

I got my girls back yesterday .. They've been in Iowa for SIX WEEKS!! It's good to have a break, it's great to get them home again .... and just in time for us all to go to Florida! lol

That's a good thing! I like being in your prayers! But, I'm far enough away that I'm praying desperately that I get a good shower out of this, because without extreme prayer it isn't likely that I'll get a drop for months and months.
