Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

OH! My friend who was here for the weekend loved my lemon balm. It has grown to take up most of the space in which I planted it and is lovely! So, I am now going to share it with her also. Spreading Carolina to a new place in Texas. (but, we're supposed to get up to 106 today - hope that doesn't wipe it out)

Mornin' all. Running late here today. With the switching of the cars last week (battery, etc.) I've misplaced my parking card
and my security badge. So I had to be let in both places. They're somewhere at the house. I normally leave them in the car and when I don't I will put them in one of two places (usually). Could be that Luke moved them. Gotta find 'em or it'll cost me $15.00.
Not much time this a.m. Got to go to a committee meeting in the People's Republic of Charlottesville this afternoon. Not my committee. Not my issue. Bossman says I gotta go...'course it'll just delay that information he wanted...:-)

I was gonna post the Flat Frodo tracking info, but they haven't updated it since last Friday! It showed him leaving Shrewsbury, but not having arrived anywhere else! I hope the Nine were not abroad over the weekend!

Okay, quick garden questions.
I have lemon balm, lavendar and the doublemint from WN in pots. All are doing quite well. Should I just leave them there? Or should I put them in the ground? What's the best way to think ahead for wintering them? (or should I bother).

Good morning!
The eye is much better, although still very blurry. If that doesn't improve, I imagine I'll have to go back to the doctor. I hope it isn't permanent.
Just let the chickens out. They are huge!

On short notice I can come up with only bread (make the toast yourself!) a selection of cold cereals, and a fairly accommodating-looking cow.
