Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Okay folks. Bossman #1 and #2 are gone. Rasputin is still technically here but he's across the street in a meeting thinking he's important.

I'm gonna go home to sweat in the yard. Jr. is at home with Luke. Wife is tutoring this afternoon and didn't get a sitter, so she went to the student's house instead.

How do I make my own little desktop icons for things if I wanted?

Right-click on the thing you want shortcutted on the desktop. Then go to Send To >> Desktop (Create Shortcut). That's all there is to it.

Last night before I went to bed, I started a batch process to resize and move hard drive partitions around. I didn't realize how long it would take, and was still running when I left for work. That's why I wasn't around this morning.

Right-click on the thing you want shortcutted on the desktop. Then go to Send To >> Desktop (Create Shortcut). That's all there is to it.

NO NO! - eeek - I am not that daft, LOL! .... I mean how do I make my own pictures for the Icons. Like the FR logo for my FR shortcut, or the LoTR logo for my LOTR folder. ;~D

Ooops, sorry. That gets a bit trickier. Right-click the icon, click Properties, then click Change Icon, then Browse. The graphic has to be saved as an icon file, which usually involved several different sized bitmaps within the same file. I don't remember how to create an icon file offhand, but I may have a program at home that can do it. I played around with that a bit when I was creating the Hobbit Hole.
