The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

It's supposed to be a crunchy cake (or at least crunchy on the corners) but I don't know how you make a cake crunchy without burning it.

My dog is so funny on mornings like this! Being as short as she is (she's a mini dachshundThe dog that lives at my house is a long haired dachshund. The name Smeagol says all we have to say about her personality for this group. Other places sometimes people ask about the name. Here - you should get it I think.

I have one, too, a '96 Dodge Ram, that I have had since it was new.
But I imagine we will take my wife's Saab to the minimoot.

Thanks much.
To: Sam Cree
We used to live in a rather snooty town in NH and there were hundreds of Saab's around (in a town of 3,000 that's pretty significant). One day I saw one go by whose license plate said "SNAAB". ;^)

By making it a big cookie instead! Soft and chewy in the center, but crispy on the outside and the edges. :)

To: RMDupree
Well then it wouldn't be a cake. You wouldn't want to go against the word of Tolkien, would you?
To: ksen; g'nad; Corin Stormhands

Corin - COME BACK!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!
That goes for you too g'nad, if you've left us. :(

I have a 2001 Ranger- no bells or whistles. Great minds must think alike, as our household also owns a Saab! LOL!

"SNAAB"
That's pretty good.
To: Alkhin
He has! That nerve that was destroyed is very small and runs right into my brain. The virus could have caused me to never know my newborn...never know anything again. I'm very fortunate.
I had friend tell me that the reason I didn't get my hearing back was because I didn't ask God for it back...I told her I was too busy praising God for taking my hearing to ask Him to give it back!
To: Alkhin
Heck. After Rosie beat me off of her Sam, I tried to grab up Frodo and had Hair and Penny came after me snarling! LOL!
You've got Pippin so I am very happy being stuck with Merry. He'll come into his own in RoTK and you'll all be green with envy seeing me live it up in Brandy Hall (which occupies the whole of the low hill, and has three large front doors, many side doors and about a hundred windows.)

daughter has a Saab, too, an '86. I like those old ones the best, hers has a 5 speed manual + turbo, a tiny 4 cylinder engine. She named it Elanor, after the winter flowers of Lorien.
To: 2Jedismom
2Jedi: And may He continue to bless you! Thanks be to God that He kept you well. I know he sent angels to watch over me when my daughter was born. It was a rescue operation to deliver her 2 months premature. The whole pregnancy I kept asking Him that if anything went wrong, make it be with ME and not with the little girl...and he answered...AND kept me safe...there was placenta previa, and then when they opened me up, discovered placenta accretia (placenta growing into the wall of the uterus).
Really, I think He had a HOST of angels around me that day! So I will join with you in praising Him. God is GOOD!
