The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Is Casablanca really that great a movie? Oh yeah... It's the best movie ever made. Done back when the thing that made a good movie was: great *dialogue*.

Er...just remember that I'll have an impressionable young 14-year-old along with me. We're just going to be refering to Jr. as the insurance that dad behaves.

just remember that I'll have an impressionable young 14-year-old along with me. Impressionable? It's been ages since I've met a 14yo that could be told anything, let alone be impressed with anything that us old folk have to say or do...
But sometimes when I start talking about some of the truly scary stuff we used to do back at Wazzu... their eyes will widen a little. :-) There's some things that'll scare even the most cynical teenager...
To: Ramius
I don't recall any specific 'matey's' but there were some 'arrghs' though I had to listen carefully to get them.
It was fun. And I was kind of starting to feel like the whole world was weighing on me today so it was a good day to get out and drive an hour to a movie. The drive did me good. The movie did me better.
Johnny Depp made a good pirate. The movie had more laughs than I expected. Lots of swordplay. I like weapon play. Especially with acrobatics involved. Yeah, pretty unreal but it sure looks good on screen.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. Sounds like fun.
Swordplay is always good. Sword..."play"?? curious expression, that.
We need more swashbuckling. Lord knows, my buckles need a good swashing, and I'll bet I'm not alone in that.
To: HairOfTheDog
Bloom To Don The Red Tights? Now that is just WRONG.
I don't think I can take that one.

I'm thinking that my next boat should be named:
"La Belle Aurore"
Would that not be the coolest boat name ever?
To: Wneighbor
But I'm freeping AND swashing... at once!
I'm wireless in a bar with a bucket of Wild Turkey and a fine RedHook Extra Special Bitter AND I'm freeping.
There's a couple of wenches handy... both of whom appear to be in need of a sea cruise. Does life in fact GET any better than this? :-)
To: Ramius
It's the waters... I came to Casablanca for the waters. Misinformed huh?

Misinformed huh? Yup. But I stick my neck out for nobody.
To: Ramius
Hide me, Rick!
To: Ramius
Remember Ramius, it's not the size of the ship...but a luxury liner is sure to impress 'em!
To: Overtaxed
I hope you are more impressed with me now.
