Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

What I want to know is - are we going to have to cook for all these different diets for everyone at entmoot?

Unless it is medically necessary, and Ruhty'll need to see a notarized letter from you doctor in triplicate (file the yellow copy with the Secretary of the List), all diets are to remain at home.

And within the next 15 minutes or so I'm going to have to start thinking about what my students are doing this morning. Little do they know they can be assured of my trying to find a short assignment today. The first showtime for "Pirates" at the nearest theater is 1:00. It is about 55 miles from here. Therefore, class should be gone by 11:30. (even though it's not technically over till 12:14)

I forgot I have 2 students who were absent when mid-term was given while I was out. They are planning to make it up after class today. Looks like I'll be making the 4PM showing instead of 1PM.

maybe i'll get lucky and they won't be ready. i'm returning another test they took today and both those students did really bad on it. (seems to be what happens when folks don't show up for class - imagine that)

Mornin! You may be in class already, but if not, say hello to Orly for Clare and me! We'd like to see the movie this weekend; Joseph wants to go, too!

We might try to make the matinee on Fri. I serve Mass on Sat. at 4:30, and we have a date with the yard on Sunday. We put off a lot of the work earlier cause it was raining so much, then it got HOT. This weekend is supposed to be nice, though; highs in the 70's. Good yardwork weather! We have a load of mulch waiting to be delivered, but we want to get the planting beds set up before it comes.

My knee is getting worse. It's been tricksey for a while, but the last couple of days it has gotten to the point where I can no longer squat down without it trembling ferociously and giving out. I plan on getting on x-ray done today or tomorrow because it's starting to seriously worry me. I can't bend my right knee more than halfway without pain (but only when I am standing). Strange!

OK, on to breakfast.
