The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

If they run theaters like they do hospitals, they will keep the bedpans in the refrigerator.

LOL Foley catheters...

Hope you don't mind me butting my nose in when you didn't ask me, but I went to TTT last Saturday and it was packed. Although it was in a smaller theater room. I think you would be ok though because it is a weekday. Those have lighter crowds usually.
I'm thinking of going tonight too because I didn't make it last night. I've been distracted the past few days by my Buffy Season 3 DVDs lol

Ummm.....I would do the 8:15 show.....I don't like to rush around if I can at all help it

IMO, this far out, you will be able to find OK seats, but I rarely go to movies at all, so maybe I shouldn't be offering an opinion.
2 days after Christmas, seven of us went to a 4:30PM showing, it was entirely sold out, but we got great seats by showing up only one hour ahead. Amazingly, the crowd was perfectly behaved in every way, even applauding at the end.

LOL! I can picture it!
I found this poem online and it's perfect!
*(sung to the tune of Let It Snow)*
Oh the weather outside is awful
And it should be unlawful
To make a poor dachsie go
In the snow, in the snow, in the snow!
Well, it doesn't show signs of stopping
So it means that I'll be hopping
Cause my tummy is just too low-o
In the snow, in the snow, in the snow!
When I finally get inside
I'm all tired and wet and beat
So in the bed, I want to hide
And only come out for a treat!
Oh, the snow is all I'm seein'
How I wish I could be peein'
Anywhere else but OH
In the snow, in the snow, in the snow!

This is true...my viewing the other day was at 2pm and cost me $3.75 to get in. There were 20 other adults there and the sound was fantastic. The screen was so huge that it felt like it was wrapped clear 'round my head. Matthew and I got there first and we got seats right in the middle of the theater, right at the midlevel of the screen. It was fabulous.

You're not butting your nose in, I just forgot to ping you. Sorry about that. *sheepish grin*
I'm going tomorrow night, Friday, that is why I'm a bit worried about getting in and getting good seats with the five of us.

I don't like to rush around if I can at all help it.Me neither, but I also don't like being out terribly late. Oh the quandaries of being a 21st century American!

Yeah, Friday could be a problem, maybe the early showing is better, since people might still be occupied with dinner?
To: Dawntreader
actually built a ramp that went up to their high bed so she could get up there when she wanted. It was the funniest thing. She also would sleep totally underneath a blanket.Fiona has a stool to get onto the bed. She can get up without it, but it makes it easier on her. And she HAS to sleep under the blankets. Completely. How she breathes I'm not sure!
To: 2Jedismom
She's getting a girl, right? Does she know what color? And you said Jolee for the name, right?
To: ksen
It should work out: you try the 7:15 and ask how many seats are available before you purchase your tickets. If there are plenty of seats left, you get your tickets for the 7:15, otherwise, you get them for the 8:15 instead and you're sure to get great seats since you'll be there an hour early!
I tried to go last Saturday but when I asked how many seats were left, I was told 35. And I didn't feel like sitting in the front row. Of course, if I hadn't seen it 4 times already, I would've bought my tickets. But I can afford to wait now... Good luck and enjoy... :o)
To: ksen
but I also don't like being out terribly lateBut then it's not a school night....

I found this poem online and it's perfect! Ha! I love it! Yep - that's Fiona!
To: ksen
Oops...missed the part about you going tomorrow night. Hmm....I guess I have no idea then! Are any other big movies opening tomorrow? That could draw the crowds away from LOTR.
IMO I'd wait until 8:15 just to be safe. Fridays are risky.
To: RosieCotton; Dawntreader
Miss Cat likes to sleep under blankets too. She hides there whenever someone comes up to the house.

My cat likes to sleep outside of the blankets, but on top of the dog UNDER the blankets. Which Fiona doesn't care much for.

Well, the had a litter of silver last week, but Maggie was silver and although my mom would take a silver, she'd rather have something different. They are expecting another litter of red (?) poodles this week, then that's it. Then my mom can pick one out. She's waiting for the reds to be born.
We really feel like we're expecting a new member of the family! Right. Jolee.
This is the kind she's getting...a toy poodle...
Life size picture.
