The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hair; "squeeky rubber ducky"? LOL; occasionally Samantha will chew on a rawhide but she just never got into chewing on non-food items, for which we are actually thankful.

"rednecks and pick-em-up trucks" looks like an official 'hold mah beer' alert.

Frodo got to see some fireworks tonight courtesy of WBZ in Boston and PBS! I've got some pictures of him next to the TV. Sorry, but that's the closest I could get him and still get some good shots!

LOL! I wish Frodo was with me!

Seriously, I have just become really tired after putting the horses to bed.... Gidget is becoming comatose I think.... and I may just crash soon.... I could sleep through it if they can, even if the neighbors did get the good stuff.

Just about sunset now.... next 30 minutes will be telling.

OT: cool episode, those were good shows.

Hair; best of luck; had a small flurry of activity, more like Tombstone rather than Rorke's Drift.

SQ: Saw the one from D.C. first and one from Boston later.

E: should be about quiting time, drive safely.

Hullo all. We are back. Went to b-i-l's for cookout and went and sat across the street from King's Dominion to watch fireworks. We'll be back there tomorrow night, but inside the park.

Nice evening. 'Cept Luke's cousin whacked him in the side of the head with a plastic golf club. He's okay, but he's gonna have a HUGH bruise. Scared me, 'cause he almost immediately went into a respiratory attack. We haven't had one of those in well over a year. But he was okay once I got him calmed down. He played the rest of the evening and went to bed just fine.

Came home to dog pee and poop on the floor. I no longer want to kill the dog, but the 14-year-old does know to stay out of my way. Cleaning it up (of course I managed to step in it), I realized that Sam hadn't been out since I took him out around 8:00 a.m. I was at the pool event all afternoon and when we got home we were rushed to get across town. Jr. now knows that "Mom didn't tell me to take him out," is not the proper response.

Give 'im a rub and a pat.... Labs will forgive the harsh words if you give them the rub and the pat.

Then make Jr. wait all day to pee tomorrow. ;~D
