Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Don't worry, we'll win Steve over when we meet in person. oh oh, I didn't know we were trying to win Steve over. Maybe you better not tell him what I said about whistling at Krispy Kreme and Entmoot.

And cloaks. At least Hair will have a cloak, and I might have that summer night blue mantleAnd I have a cloak. Do we have a working definition of the difference between the mantle you want and a cloak? My cloak is not like the ones in the film because I made it long long before the film. So, it's my interpretation of a Lothlorien cloak. But, if we determine what your definition of a mantle is... we might could get on that for you.

People always like himAww. We're sure he's great. Because he sounds great when you talk about him. I was thinking from reading what you say about him that he sounds really really sweet - except for scratching the beard and making you not hear the movie good the first time.. ha ha ha

It was 100 degrees outside, I had no shoes on and two little kids in the backseat in the pjs! They were going to open the next day and there was a line of people camped out, some playing guitars...I just about flew out of the car, but Steve protested!

I forgot, I was going to ask this question the first thing this morning. It's a subject change.
Has anyone around here seen a theatrical production of the Screwtape Letters put on by some British ensemble group touring the US right now? They titled the production something besides Screwtape Letters but I didn't catch what it was. Anyway, they are doing this production here in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if it would be any good.
Of course, seeing as how I found the Screwtape Letters very lengthy and boring...... I don't know. Theater might be better.
To: 2Jedismom
Now, that sounds like a fun thing to me!! I couldn't do that.... but only because I can't play a whistle. I could sure do something else..... not musical.
Poor guy. Seems like I've run into several similar circumstances with men in my life. But, my guys haven't been nice and sweet like your Steve. (oh no, maybe i'm supposed to be sweeter too..... naaaa.)
To: Wneighbor
Yeah, he's a good guy...just walked in and said "Fine, I'll take the boys to Awanas...go see the movie."
Wow.
I'm considering it...series.
Still, we've had some pretty grumpy times too, as those old-timers on this thread can attest. But not many and not bad, although once, if we'd had a doghouse, he'd been in it.
To: 2Jedismom
considering itConsidering it? What are you talking about? Didn't you get the Suzy-buffet speech?
I suppose I'm going to have to drive all the way to Tulsa now just to get you out of the house! OH NO!

Isn't Tulsa on I44?
To: SuziQ
the Audio Book version read by John Cleese. It is VERY good! So, maybe the theater thing wouldn't be so bad you think? You see, my daughter is all into theater at school. And she likes going to theater stuff. (I prefer movies myself) So, I was thinking about taking her. She is as much a C.S. Lewis fan as Tolkein. She might like it. Maybe we'll go.

You're probably right that Sam's goodness is what makes him so appealing to me. *sigh* Watch it, you! He's MINE! ;-)
To: ksen
LOL!
To: 2Jedismom
I'm liable to play my whistle in front of Krispy Kreme. Maybe we can put out a tin cup? I've never had Krispy Kreme, and it would help pay for a dozen or so!

I'm not going. I missed all the matinees and it's too expensive and too many people in the evening. I'll go next week, take my mom with.
I think I will start the extended though!
Hey, Rosie, OT...I got The Inner Light (Picard playing pennywhistle) of VHS tape now! No commercials!
I'm just sitting here playing my whistle, happy as a clam.
To: RosieCotton
LOL I wish I had sign "Will play for doughnuts". They'd probably love it, actually (the owners...)
To: Wneighbor
Yes, I-44 goes right through Tulsa. It's a turnpike from OKC.

I got The Inner Light (Picard playing pennywhistle) of VHS tape now! He's a big faker! :)
He keeps the top holes covered, does his fingering on the bottom holes, and expects the notes to change!
To: Overtaxed
Hey, let's hang him!!!
;-)

That was great! Thanks for posting that. You know, it is New Year's Eve in The Shire. We all should have off tomorrow.
