The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hair & All free people of middle earth:

The group had gathered together, as they have done for many months, to tell their tales and sing their songs.
Yet all was not as tranquil as it appeared, a few could sense the disquiet, some were oblivious to the gathering cloud.

A dark wind blew through the assemblage, scattering them, but only briefly. One by one, they picked their way through the broken limbs and battered flowers. The stalwart band, hobbit hole dwellers all, was coming back together.

Though the wind was severe, they would perserve. A few were already gathering up the fallen branches to stake up the flowers. Even the flowers are remarkedly resilient, here in Middle Earth.

You know what it looks like to me? Zinc oxide cream mixed with crushed coarse oatmeal. That's the consistency of it. It's really thick and gloopy, but has grit in it. And it washes off easily, a bit too easily IMHO.

The Rx pamphlet didn't specify the ingredients though, which is unusual. Maybe it's something I could have whipped up in my kitchen for less than $15! LOL!

She's in her crib, singing along with her lullaby music. I can hear her through the monitor. It's so soothing.

HA! And the lembas debates.

Maybe I should re-do my anti-opus to include those things as part of the "good old days". *silly grin*

As long as I don't have to eat cornbread lembas

You know girl, JB woke up during the night last night, and I brought him into bed with me; as I held him I realised that pretty soon they are not gonna want us around, we won't be cool, so we better cherish it now. Those kinda thoughts go a long way when you do night shifts. I'm still gonna wake em up at 2am when they're sixteen though!

Your kindness is noted.

You're also worried that I would seek revenge by posting "the pic", aren't you? *wink*

I'd probably try to hide the lable.

So when they ask you what medication you're picking up? How do you answer? *grin*

What an interesting link! I assume you thought I would like it because my coop is in my garden bed?

My husband and I are composters. My husband has a bumper sticker that says "Compost Happens!"

I gave her a bit of rice and chicken soup broth today at around 5:30pm. No bad reaction so far!

Hi Trini!!! Good to see that you survived the minimoot as well. I'm safely back home again...

The pic? What could you have to worry about? *I'm* the one who looks like he spent the afternoon in the microwave...
