The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

When I was doing research online, I read that acidophylis (sp?) was great was helping to soothe both tummies and bottoms (in and out).
I'm afraid to give her anything until I get those results though. Whatever it is, I've gone beyond hoping that it's a case of simple indigestion.

I can't think of anyone who'd want to have lived her life. Now, plenty of us could live with her skin, hair and wardrobe.
I can feel no malice towards her as I've seen others on FR do. I'm overwhelmed with the fact that 2 boys were left without a mom, regardless of whose fault it was.

Yes, that's right...the yogurt I'm eating right now has
S. Thermophilus
L. Bulgaricus
L. Acidophilus
Bifidus
Supposedly all good for your tummy...
I should eat more of it.

I don't understand the malice either...
I have a huge Princess Diana book collection. I've bought so many of them the day they were released. I just look through them. I thought her very beautiful.
I miss her. I, for one, couldn't wait to see what she was going to do next.

I remember getting up early to watch the wedding. William was born on my birthday. I had the frilly blouses, the pale hose. I've had all her haircuts.
I remember the day she died... I stayed up all night and of course got up early to watch the funeral.
I mark July 1 and August 31...
I loved her!

We have friends who have, shall we say a flair for the melodramatic. Former liberals who became country club Republicans (wannabes at least) because of abortion and the fact that they like money (once they started earning some). They'd visit us in Arlington and she'd want to go place a rose on Bobby Kennedy's grave. They were
horrified that we were married on November 22.
Anyway, they were at our house the weekend Diana was killed. My wife casually mentioned it at breakfast and the woman literally went into mourning right before our very eyes.
Wife felt kinda bad, but not too bad since they came when I was painting the kitchen and the house was in shambles (we actually said "this isn't a good time" they said "we'll still come"). Wife also didn't feel too bad because this woman once said "with your complexion you shouldn't wear red." Wife was wearing a red sweater at the time...
I miss that sweater...;-)

Nope. I'm listening to Patsy.

I love yogurt as does Becky, but no one else in my family has a taste for it. Strange!

I didn't break into full blown mourning...
I was more torn up over Diana's death than RFK's death though.

I think the biggest tragedy is that she was just looking for happiness like the rest of us - and folks want to burn her at the stake for it.
A lot of people make dating mistakes. They're just lucky enough not to have them plastered on the front of tabloids every week.

I always said the celebrity death I'd find hard to take would be Lucille Ball. And I joked I'd have to take the day off from work.
She died the day Jr. was born...so I was off from work.
We did not, however, choose to name Jr. "Lucille."
