Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yeah, that thing is cool, wonder if it comes in 4x4.That's a 1952 wienermobile. The modern ones are built on a bigger RV chassis. Competition among college kids to tour with one of those during the summer is supposed to be fierce.

Everyone is grumpy lately.Sorry, but I'm not grumpy. In fact, I forgot to tell you that you brought a big smile to my face today after you posted the pictures of those smiling GIs. It made my whole day. Thank you, from one un-grumpy freeper.

I'm so glad!
But just perusing FR...people are just snapping at each other.
I wondered if it was the heat too?
I've been walking on clouds since getting that email this morning...it made my whole day too.
Goodnight!

At least I have a picture of me with my dream car now.Oh it is DEFINITELY you! LOL!

Gooood morning Hobbit Hoooooole!
We've got the start of a foundation:

'cept they messed up already and forgot to put in an extension on one of the rooms. The lumber you see in the middle-right of the pic is a rough outline of where the extension is supposed to be, so maybe they've already caught the mistake. *sigh*

Everyone is grumpy lately. Must confess, I've been snappish lately.
To: g'nad
Hmmm... What about a 'mock rock'? They're are hollow and, depending on the brand, are secured into the ground with stakes. Hubby and I are thinking along these lines for our own (future) yard.
To: Lil'freeper
Good morning! We seem to be the only ones up.
It's hot. Again. Wayyyy hot. Humidity currently at 100%, supposedly. Don't see how that's possible. Is that why I feel like I'm breathing underwater?
To: Lil'freeper
Good Morning!
You need a little garden elf sitting on that rock.
Webcam pic...no view at all today.

To: RosieCotton
heh heh... mornin' Rosie... hadda heckuva storm here last nite... 2" of rain, lightnin', wind... calm and overcast now...
To: g'nad
Good morning! We got the storm too! A doozey! I wonder what the chickens thought, having never experienced anything other than a light rainfall once or twice! The buff orpingtons are still sleeping in a box on the screened in porch (the plastic is still up), but Jar Jar and Roy are now completely out in their coop in the garden.

Uh...I haven't looked! LOL
I just looked out and the window and I can't see them out there. I wonder if they are still curled up in their nest box where they sleep?
