The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Just to save you some time, Waldenbooks on Kendall (across from Reno's house on 112th avenue) does NOT have anything by Zelazny. :(

I've been looking for something to read lately, so thank you!

Thanks, Ruthy. Maybe Borders or Barnes and Noble then.

I still have the paperbacks published by Avon that I bought back around 1976, when I first discovered Zelazny. Gorgeous cover designs... I was so bummed that I had to wait for Courts of Chaos to be published so that I could read the end of the story.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I have some hardbacks from the Science Fiction Book Club. I have a collection and some singles....have to check when I get home.

A friend will help you move. Real friends help you move bodies.

Amazon has the collection of 10 for $16.95. Gonna see if Barnes & Noble has them. Wife gets a discount there.

I hope you don't mind, but I'll put your Grama on our Parish Prayer line for a happy death. That may sound odd to folks, but I believe in prayer for a peaceful passing to the arms of our Lord.
It is so wonderful that she has been able to visit with family members; they will treasure that time, as I know you have been. Hope all works out for your sub so you can spend as much time with her as possible.
To: Corin Stormhands; Sam Cree
I've seen the collection of 10 at both Barnes & Noble and Borders. Don't know what the price was, though.

I have the two volume Chronicles of Amber hardcover from the SF Book Club as well. I have the second five books in hardcover first editions (bought them as they came out.) A couple of years ago I went on eBay, trying to get hardcover first editions of the first five books, but only managed to get Hand of Oberon and Courts of Chaos... the others were just too hard to find, and too expensive when you could find them.

Frodo is out for delivery.Frodo has arrived!!!
I had gone out about 11am to do errands, got home at 1 and he was waiting patiently in the living room. He's protecting the place right now!
I told the girls in Clare's Scout troop about taking him along to NYC this weekend. They thought that was cool!
It is a gorgeous day here today after that thunderstorm last night. I had planned to watch the whole Extended DVD, but got to working on house plans, then ran out of time; didn't get to bed until almost 4 am! I did finish the first part. I'll watch the second DVD later today.
