Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Me too. That would just be awful if one or both were roosters. The theory has always worked on the chicks I have hatched though, I am sorry to say. I have two chickens left from the bunch that was mass murdered:) one hen, one rooster, that hen still does not have a comb and they hatched this past winter.
I bet your orpies will for sure be hens though, at least, coming from the hatchery sexed. Aren't the ones at Atwoods just mutt chicks hatched locally?

I think we had the rain last night that had gone through Pittsburgh and had caused all the flooding yesterday morning. I must not have come fully awake, but I was aware of huge rolling thunder and a hard rainfall. Clare said it woke her, and she sat up to look out the window just in time to see a huge flash of lightning and the thunder right on top of it. It must have struck really close. Startled her, to say the least!
It will be raining into tomorrow, then after that, I can put the fertilizer and weed killer on my yard.

Did I ever send you my phone number? If not, let me know and I'll freepmail you.

Morning! Great weekend here weather-wise. Low 80's and low humidity. Got some work done in the yard yesterday and (maybe) today)...see what I can work in around the BBQ.

Good morning everyone!
Today they are supposed to deliver the hay, if the weather holds, so far it is sunny. I want to call the guy and have him err on the side of caution if it is iffy... I won't buy it if it gets wet on the way over. Just can't.
So if Jar Jar and Roy turn out to be roosters can you take that many Becky? I am thinking maybe 2J will just end up with those two Buff Orpingtons that she wanted in the first place!

Good Morning!
Maybe 2J will need 20 hens to go with those 2 roosters. :)
I'm getting up my grocery list....need to get a steak (and some pineapple) to throw on the grill this afternoon. And I'll need some blueberries to make muffins for the week.
To: Overtaxed
You cook better than I do that is for sure! - I will probably make a sandwich.
I *can* cook, I just don't do more than three ingredients if it is just for me.

Heh. Maybe I should get back into my Sunday cooking routine....cook enough for some decent leftovers during the week. I eat less junk during the week when I do that.
Think I'll get some JarJar for next week. :)
To: Overtaxed
Very true, I eat better when I make HairOfTheDog surprise for the week.
Enough of this sitting, I guess I should clean house.... at the moment, the horses' bedrooms are tidier than mine.

She's with her Grama. I don't remember when she said she'd be back.
To: Overtaxed
Good morning all; in for a break, just about finished bricking and had to go to get more sand, since we thought we had more than enough-we didn't.
OT: With her teaching monday & wednesday, I think she'll be back and on line tonight.

She has a class on Monday? I knew - or remembered - the Wednesday class.
*Sigh* Another brain cell must have died.
To: ecurbh
Tuesday evening I'm gonna be eating by way up and down Shrewsbury Street at the Taste of Shrewsbury St. Festival! I'll probably be home around 9, so you could call me after that. Did I send you my cellphone# too?
To: SuziQ
Yes, the cell # is the only one you gave me. I gave you mine too, right?
To: ecurbh
Yep, I got it. BTW, TTT is still showing at the cheap cinema on West Boylston St. in W. Boylston in the same shopping center as WalMart!
To: HairOfTheDog
Oh brother! [shakes head] [incredulous look] what?!?
