The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

IT SMELLS LIKE SOMEBODY TOOTED! Oh puh-leez 2J, like conservative homeschoolers never pass gas! :-) Fine little dwarf yer raisin' there...
At least you taught him to say "toot"...
To: RMDupree

But she gets this dazed look about her that looks like her brain has totally disconnected, and when she comes out of it, she looks a bit confused, like "I know something just happened, but I don;t know what."Was reading over your posts about the horse and this caught my eye at once since it is the same with some people who have epileptic seziures. Also the "knowing" that she is about to have one of these spells points to a more physical than mental problem. One more thing, what about her blood sugar?

Well people here it is noon, and I have done nothing but sit here and talk horses:). Thanks so much for all the input, sorry for tying up your LOTR thread with horses. But I need to get up and do something. See you all in a bit.

Oh no..another variable. What is blood sugar? and what does it do? and how do you check it?

I'm looking for something that will give me lists of ok foods and tell me how to figure out what I am supposed to, and what I'm not supposed to eat. For example (the following numbers are entirely made up): Bread counts 10 carbs, ham counts as 2, etc, and you are allowed 30 a day. I'm looking for stuff like that. This diet is way easier to follow than that. There is a page of stuff you can eat as much as you want of, and anything else, you can have one serving of whatever you choose (even cake) at one of your daily meals.
No weighing, no measuring, no math....great diet!

No weighing, no measuring, no math....great diet! It's mainly about learning to make better choices about the food you eat - once you generally know the things to avoid (sugar, trans-fats, white flour, etc.), most anything else is fair game. As much fat and protein as you want, and get the carbs you do eat from healthy, nutrient-dense sources (veggies).

I love your profile page! What a hoot.

I promised myself that one day, I will learn to care for horses so that I can either own one or at least get a job being around them in some way.
Now that Becky is fast approaching 6 years old, I know the "horse-loving years" are only 3 or 4 away. I'd love for her to have that experience since I never did.

Thanks. Cindydawg and I worked a long time on it (with no advance from a major publisher) lol

No weighing, no measuring, no math....great diet!I thought it would be hard, but I am finding new ways to satisfy my sweet tooth. My favorite dessert now is a raspberry smoothie: couple scoops of sugar-free ice cream, a few raspberries, and some cream. And for an extra special treat, add a splash of Bailey's. Mmmmm!!
To: Corin Stormhands
Quite a cheerful little breakfast thread you found there. Goodness.
To: mtngrl@vrwc; ecurbh; Lil'freeper
It seems that my biggest hurdle will be to get comfortable without a detailed list.
Hrrmmm, ok, I can do this......
