Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Morning Becky. People who are epileptic can have seizures from sensory stimuli. Interesting to see what you vet has to say.Medicine want cure her though. It can stop or reduce them but there is always the possibility it will occur. (low med levels, illness, or just happens) If so, she needs treatment but I would be very care competing with her for awhile. JMO :')

Ended up not watching
O Brother... last night. It played fine when I watched it on the computer (I used the Dell DVD player). But my DVD (a Panasonic) said "this type of disk is not readable, please try a different one." I've never had that happen before. DVD has DVD-R, CD-RW, MP3 playback and Windows Media. Do you think I can get it to work?
Suzi - have you had this problem with Netflix before?

Managed to snap a picture of the dog when I took him to the back yard this morning... Very funny corin! Good morning!

I am adjusting to the fact that our whole summer will be like this. Hope it dries out some before the first hurricane hits. :)

Yep. The first hurricane is scheduled to hit sometime between August 2-9.
Here is a picture of Flat Frodo in the eye of the storm...

How does this netflix thing work? They send you the DVDs? Yeah, I have a list of movies I want to see. I can have three out at a time. So when I send one back, they'll mail another. It works pretty well. I've not had any other troubles.

picked up the first two Zelazny Amber books you will enjoy. some of the best sci-fi/fantasy out there.

Maybe you should look into hydroponic gardening! At this point I'm just trying to keep the rest of my yard from washing into the neighbors yard.
But seriesly, I have painting that I was supposed to finish last fall, but when my f-i-l got sick and Christmas rehearsals started I just ran out of time. With the wife working evenings, I have very few windows of opportunity to get anything done. It's getting pretty frustrating.

We've had a couple of times when the DVD got messed up in the middle of the movie, but never that it wouldn't play at all. Just send the DVD back, let them know what happened, and they could send you another disc to see if that one was just squirrely.
I think there is a place on their website to report the problem. I've done that before sending the disc back, just to alert them to the prob.
From which distribution center do your discs come? Look at the address label on the return envelope. We're lucky in that Worcester is a major East Coast Distribution center so when they notify us that a DVD is shipped, we usually get it the following day. Same thing when we send them back; we put them in the mail one day and they receive it the next.

So the DVDs they send you - do they look like regular market DVDs, or are they bootleg disposable copies made by netflix?

Thanks. I'm not sure where they come from. But I'll check that out. I won't be able to deal with it until I'm back from Kentucky.
To: HairOfTheDog; SuziQ
Far as I can tell, they're legit copies, right Suzi?
To: RMDupree
Thanks for breakfast Ruthy.
To: Corin Stormhands
Well, even if they looked homemade they might still have license to do that so they could be legit... But nevertheless they look to you like the imprinted original copies of it from the studio?
Could be that the disks just sometimes get messed up from use and abuse, and perhaps your computer DVD player is more tolerant? - I dunno.

Yeah Mack read about med. Phenabarbitol. But they can become resistent to it over time. We are going to try a feed change and adding minerals to her feed first. Funny that the thing that fixed Rusty's sweating problem is the same thing reccommended as a first step in treating this.
I asked Mack, about who was going to be the first to climb on her after we had treated her for awhile. Neither me or my son are real anxious to be the guiena pig:) Ususally you could tell before you climbe on her if it was going to be good or bad. Since for so long we thought she was just being a brat, I went ahead and climbed on, because I didn't want to be a wimp, and also once she threw her fits, she was done and went back to being an excellent horse. I really loved this horse, she was my picture of the perfect horse, bays are my favoirte color, and she was very pretty, long mane and tail, small head, soft eye. And she learned so fast and did so good. Everyone at the competitons always said that Quarter Horse that were that muscular didn't always do real well. Took them too long to cool down, but I NEVER lost a point on metabolics with her. They would take her counts and swear she had to have some Arab in her, LOL, the arab people tend to think Arabs are the only breed that can do it. I think Arabs are probably a breed intended more for this, but if you condition anything should be able to do it. It was hard to give up on her. As I said I trained and conditioned her for over a yr before she had her first spell.
