The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I'm glad more HH'ers are going to be meeting. You guys have a good time.
I am taking my daughter and one of her friends to see TTT on Friday night.

That's funny, because I like playing Santiago. I just wish that there were male and female options for all of the characters. All the guys are wimpy, and the wimmen are the fightin' types.
Can you play AC online? I don't remember if you can or not.

So ksen, I was away for a couple weeks, what is the HH consensus, if there is one regarding TTT vs FOTR?
At the moment I favor FOTR, tho I love both.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Are there demos for those games, Bear?

Okay....I'm hooommmmeee!
I have a wooded lot (well...not as wooded as it once was :) ) and I grow catnip, lemon balm, peppermint, and oregano. At The House I've got catnip (lots and lots of catnip), peppermint, basil, and chives that I grow along with a regular vegetable garden. Right now I have some thyme that I had out on the deck (lousy squirrels kept digging in the pot) that I'm overwintering inside.

I have my own office and a 21 inch monitor! Plus FR access. Life is good...Woo Hoo!! Especially the FR access!! Best of luck, Rosie!

So ksen, I was away for a couple weeks, what is the HH consensus, if there is one regarding TTT vs FOTR?I think everyone enjoyed TTT, except possibly g'nad. The consensus was that people were pretty uncomfortable with the changes, but on 2nd, 3rd, 4th viewings the changes were more bearable.
There are a few PJ-Bots on the thread (at least Hair and I) that have defended TTT throughout.
I don't have the post # handy but, I pinged you to it on 1/2/02, did you get a chance to look at my review?

what is the HH consensus, if there is one regarding TTT vs FOTR? Are we voting? Right now I'd have to say FOTR but that's probably because I've seen the director's cut. I'll wait unti TTT's director's cut comes out to decide.
To: ksen
Yeah, I did see yours and g'nads...I agreed with g'nads complaints, but love the thing anyway, just think I like FOTR better.
When we meet in 2 weeks, it will be my 3rd viewing, my wife's first.

Consensus on TTT? - I don't know if I can attest to a consensus in here EVER! ;~D. Ksen is right, though. I do defend the film against nitpicking, but FoTR will always be my "more favorite" part of the story. TTT is well done, just not my favorite chapters... I like the beginning and the end of the story. Funny, the parts of the film I like least are the favorites of some here, and I don't mind so much some of the things others pan.
I am back from post office round 1... Anyone up for a chat? I need to make some arrangements with some of you!
Anyone want to buy Imladris.net? It is for sale on Ebay.

"Are we voting?"
I just thought there might be a sort of general consensus, I guess it looks like most of us think we might like FOTR better.
To: Sam Cree; HairOfTheDog; Overtaxed
I don't know if I can like any of them BETTER. I love LoTR and so far we have only seen 2/3's of it. The Lord of the Rings I can honestly say will be my favorite movie when it is complete.

"never trust the media"
I just found out that "media" is Spanish for "middle," as in Middle Earth, Tierra de Media.
I am going to cook dinner now, grilled kingfish we caught the other day, will check the chat later if I can.
Congratulations again.
To: Sam Cree
Do check in, I have questions that need answers!

Problems? I saw you come in and then leave again.

Got my tickets now! Excitement building!
I looked at the menu the night you posted the link there after you and Rose went the first time. At that time I sort of made a mental not... "hmmm next time we're going through..." Little did I know it would be NOW!! I'm excited. My baby girl is too.

You are going tonight? - How fun!
