Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I think Wneighbor is fixing a pipe. Pipe is not fixed. I got under there. Found the leak. Can't do it. It is leaking at a joint but I don't have the strength to do anything. ARGH!!!!!!!
Well, at least the front yard is mowed now. I came in for a break. I usually don't take breaks. And then I usually feel horrible after it's all done. Trying something new here. Breaks.

This elf ain't picky about dead things. Especially if they're stuffed. He might not have found any bacon there.

I'm thinking it's a DVD we'll want to own.

I thought it said the "Omelet" of the Phoenix. Omelet sounds good. I'm hungry.

It is leaking at a joint but I don't have the strength to do anything. ARGH!!!!!!! I know how that is: I still haven't gotten that mower blade off yet. My weeds look like they've been gnawed by a horse!
To: Corin Stormhands
Hmmm. I must have left a little bit of it. I thought I'd eaten it all.

Where is your s-i-l posted? If you son't want to put that in a public forum, freepmail me. I found out that my nephew is NOT being posted to S. Korea, Thank God! He'll be going to Germany with a new squadron that's being formed, and he'll help train some of the guys coming from the Middle East on the new Apache Longbow D platform. I think he'll be in Ilscheim (sp)
Anyway, we were thrilled that he wouldn't have to go to Korea, but you never know, anything could pop up anywhere!
To: Wneighbor
Oh that's right. I'm not doing omelets anymore...French. How about "The Fritatta of the Phoenix"?
To: Overtaxed
Can't we just rename omelets? Something non-French? I like 'em!
To: RosieCotton
Freedom-lets?
To: Overtaxed
I know how that is: I still haven't gotten that mower blade off yet. Don't you hate that? I can completely see what needs to be done and it looks like I'm going to have to pay somebody to come do it. Gees!!!
My boss offered to come see if he could do it. But, with the trouble it took me to fold my body down there I don't think we can add his rather large padded belly to the space.
Plumbers should be skinny. It should go along with the job.
At least the plumber I had out in December was pleasant to look at. There is that.

Freedom-lets? Heh. Yeah, something like that.

His duty place was Wachenheim. They live at Weisbaden. So, he commuted about a half hour. Wachenheim was too small to have housing for them. But, it is the small town that my daughter says is so friendly.

I have gotten a wild idea and been applying for new jobs.
My epiphany did not come to me as I hoped, and I think I need to force the issue.
Applied for one job on base at Fort Lewis, and one job at the local Indian Casino.
