The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Okay, Luke is in bed and (mostly) cleaned up (not in that order). I need a digital camera. It was like he'd been dipped in chocolate...

Send him to bed with the dog.... that will take care of whatever is left still on him!

Grama is 85 now. She will be 86 in September.

She does that thing too a lot where she will think of one story and then tell it to everybody that comes in for the day. grates on the nerves a bit when you're the one sitting there for all 12 tellin's but it will be much worse when there aren't no more tellin's. So, I'll take all I can get.

I have been trying to write down some of the stories. It's even hard to do that right now. But, I figure it's something to get me through the time I'm sitting here by myself just thinking about how she is.

If I have vermiculite ....sure I'll bring some. Usually it's that chunky stuff...not the fine seed-starter stuff.

That's what #2 son looked like after his first birthday! He just stuck the cake right in his face! Cutest picture. I have another pic of him having just fallen asleep with his face in a bowl of Spaghetti-Os! Ah, adventures with food!

Good luck with the laurel cuttings. I have about 20 plants outside waiting to either be potted (annuals) or planted (perennials). Tomorrow's weather looks nice, but I've been having such a bad time with allergies lately, I haven't wanted to get outside! I'll take one of Clare's Claritin tabs tomorrow and see if that helps!

Gonna hit the hay! Have a good evening.

All that was in the package you sent of lemon balm I mixed in with the soil in the bed. The soil here is so dense it has to have lots of stuff added. That was a welcome addition.

Did the mescaline just kick in?
Or was that Debbie Reynolds in a
silver Afro wig?!

Heh....

Don't try and fight it, or you'll
get brain bubbles. Strokes,
aneurysms. You'll just wither up
and die.

There was every reason to believe
that we had been heading for
trouble, that we'd pushed our luck
a bit far...

My heart was filled with joy. I
felt like a monster reincarnation
of Horatio Alger... a man on the
move... and just sick enough to be
totally confident.

MrsG: great save on the hummingbird, we enjoyed the photos; tell G to drink more water, this humidity is tricky on that.

Gnad-nice job on the food plots, like your style with recycling farm equipment.
