Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

RM, are you sure you can't ADD a video card? I can understand your not being able to upgrade the memory on the original (presumably built in) video card, but you should be able to disable it and install a new one in a PCI slot. I did that with a Compaq I used to own.

Then the Star Trek episode I love comes on tonight! Whooo hooo! Matthew is already doing his school. I got Penny's cookies done and boxed up, ready to go!

Hmm? I'm not fighting or upset at anybody. Corin didn't sound like himself in that post so I was just wondering if everything was alright with him. I know he had the news about his brother, I am praying that everything is ok on that front.

I understand Hair. And I will cut back on the elf-bashing and even go as far to say:

Legolas is downright fine! And any Elf that can take down 2 Uruk-hai with one arrow has got to be testament to testosterone driven Woodland types.

My elf-bashing is done in the spirit of good, clean fun - and personality wise, I love the Dwarves. But regardless, if it has come to the point where people's feelings are getting hurt or patience is wearing thin - I will forgoe (sp?) any future bashing out of respect for everyone else.

Sorry, Hair. I'll do better. Want some of these baby backs? :)

It's already been cannabalized, software wise. The XP was purged and Windows 2000 Pro installed. So it's not as if I can download from the emachines website since my model is standard XP and it may mess things up worse.

Let's see if that is an option.

I know what you are saying. But since I've been chastened by Corin, I know he can come off rougher than he really means to. I read his FReepmail and my first reaction is that he didn't like me at all and I stayed away for a whole day busy with other things (it was my first week in the Hole), but he responded shortly thereafter with another FReepmail asking me where I went to! That really touched my heart and I have a deep respect for him ever since. :)

Honestly though, for everyone's sake, the race wars have to be slowed a bit. I'll miss the fun, but it's not worth the bickering. :(

Yup. They both vanished and that troubles me as well.
